1976 Ford Country Squire Wagon Only 72k Original Miles 400 Cubic Inch 2 Barrel Engine Hello and welcome to my 1976 Ford Country Squire Wagon auction. This is a rare find and an actual survivor from the 70's era. A time where bigger always meant better. And this car is as big as you can get. These were built in the days before minivans and suv's. These cars were so versatile and could go from carrying a family of 8 comfortably to hauling 4x8 sheets of plywood piled high in the back. Not to mention a roof rack to carry luggage or ladders and towing capacities that some our trucks today couldn't measure up to. If you can look back to what your living room looked like back in these times and built a car around that design you would come up with the Ford Country Squire Wagon. Actually these cars are starting to turn the corner in collector worth. I'm not saying these are as valuable as the early 70's muscle car, but as each generation grows older we start buying the same cars we grew up with because they are so near and dear to us. We start telling our kids stories these cars and the memories we had with them just as our father's told us when we were kids about cars they grew up with. History repeats itself as each generation grows older. I search high and low for these cars and love to buy, collect, restore and pass along these beauties. They certainly don't make cars like they use to so I try and sell cars like they use to make. Most people can't say they love what they do for a living, but I can. I am very passionate about these cars and I love meeting the people who collect these cars and appreciate them as I do. If I could afford to keep them all, I would. Please read below the description of this particular 1976 Ford Country Squire Wagon. I rescued this car out of a storage unit from the original owner's nephew. It has been sitting in storage since 1994 and the lady that owned it had passed away and left the car to the nephew. The nephew wasn't old enough to appreciate the car and said that it was time to sell it. When I went to go see it I was so impressed of its condition I just had to own it. He (the nephew) claimed it was garaged kept its whole life and was always maintained. The vehicle only has 72k miles on it but when the nephew went to title the vehicle he put 75k for the mileage. I have a notarized letter from him stating the error and if its an issue I can easily fix it for you. The title is in my name with mileage of 75k. I have taken as many pictures as I can to depict the physical condition of the car. So study the pictures of the vehicle and please let me know of any questions you may have or even if you want me to take additional pictures and post them on the site. I am here to help. Let me tell you about the driving condition of the car because that is something you can't tell from the pictures. The car drives excellent for the age. I only drove it a couple of miles. The tires are a little old but have very good tread, but some drying from sitting but not bad. The motor sounds good and the tranny shifts fine. I did put new plugs in it and air filter. Remember its been sitting for awhile so I think a good run will do this car good. I noticed the valve cover gaskets where leaking so I put new ones on too. With some minor tweaking this will be tip top again. The a/c blows warm but the compressor kicks on and is quiet. All lights work and power rear window, but I noticed the right turn signal indicator in the inside on the dash does not flash green but works fine on the outside. Also the gas gauge does not work. The heater core is seeping antifreeze but if car meets reserve I will put a new one in. Very easy to do since its under the hood instead of under the dash. All brakes and shocks and belts and hoses are fine and ready for the road. I'm sure this vehicle will make any trip but I wouldn't recommend it due to it sitting for awhile. But if you bring all the precautions with you and decide to drive it, I think it would be ok. No guarantees though. In summation this is in excellent original condition. Again, look at the pictures, ask me questions. The car was last on the road and registered back in 1994. As I said, it will need a good running, but I can tell you the longer I run this car the better it feels. This is a very clean original car. A great addition to any collection or even a good daily driver. The paint on this car is all original and has great depth and shine. Possibilities are endless with this American classic.
