Vehicle Detail

Nice car, but still needs a lot of work. I am selling my 1963 VW Beetle which I bought 4 years ago as a learning experience. I'm done learning now and would like it to go to someone who can get it running and driving great, now its only good. I will try to describe everything as accurately and honestly as I can. I am willing to answer any questions and email more pictures if needed. The true mileage is not known. It may be the actual mileage but I have no way to verify it. The body is in decent shape. There are a few dings in the doors that are hard to see in the pictures. There is a little rust on the drivers door at the bottom. The passenger side front fender has a spot where the paint has faded. The drivers side rear fender has a little spot where the paint has cracked. The paint job was not the best, but this is how I bought it. The interior is rough. seats and headliner should be replaced, behind the back seat the carpet is very brittle and discolored. All electrical is working except for the wipers. I had them working, last time I turned them on they wiped once and stopped. I check the fuses but don't see any bad. I did install a voltage regulator to control the wiper speed so maybe that has gone bad. The engine is not original to this car. There is no engine number on the block, only the letter H. I've read that this might have been a dealer exchange engine but am not sure. The car has been converted to 12-volt. They battery was new in 2006. New ignition coil, plugs, wires, fuel pump, rebuilt carb. Last year I installed a new oil cooler. The brakes have been redone all around with new bearings, shoes, cylinders, rubber hoses. Emergency brakes have been repaired. The wheels and tires were purchased 3 years ago and have less than 1000 miles on them. The spare tire is also new. There is a jack in the car. The radio is not original but is hooked up to the speaker in the car. Its not very loud, cant really hear it when your driving. The engine runs ok, but I think needs to have a rebuild soon. It smokes a little when you first start it up. It drips motor oil and a little gear oil. Floor pan is OK. Passenger side under the battery has been replaced. The rest is just OK. There is a small rust hole under the gas pedal about the size of a golf ball, maybe smaller. Bumpers are dinged and bent a little, chrome on all the handles is pitted, rubber seals around side windows are cracked. The glass is very good, only a few scratches. The car drives well. I have had it up to 65 with no problems. It is a little rough starting out in first gear. I'm not sure if its a clutch adjustment needed or what. There are no heater boxes, they were rusted out when I got it. I have installed J-pipes to bypass. I'm sure I am forgetting something so please ask questions and I answer you as soon as possible. I do not wish to arrange for shipping, you are responsible for picking it up. It can be driven, but I have never gone more that 50 miles with it.
