1957 Chevrolet 2 Door Bel Air Sport Coupe. A very nice frame up restoration of a rust free car. Complete Montana ownership history. Runs and drives great. Options include Automatic Transmission (Powerglide), Push Button Radio (works), Clock (not working), Spinner Hubcaps, Dual exhaust. New paint, chrome, seat covers, weatherstrip, carpet, headliner. The stainless steel has not been polished. 4 good Remington wide whites G78-14 bias ply tires. The spare is a bias ply F78-14 that does not match the Remingtons. The trans shifts properly and the fluid is clean. There is no crud in the engine. See photos of heads. The car has a 1A assembly date. I believe this is the first week of January 1957 The car has been undercoated at some point. I know the dealers did this as an option when the cars were sold. I do not know when this undercoating was done. All 4 wheel cylinders have been replaced. The front brake shoes have been replaced.The rear shoes are still good. I will include copies of the receipts in the sale. I believe the owners manual and shop manual are originals and will be included in the sale. Car shows 49K miles, I'm not sure how accurate that is. Aftermarket seat belts. Cylinder Heads casting numbers 3731554 correct for 1957. One is casting date H236 August 23 1956, the other E157 May 15 1957 (after cars' build date). Intake manifold 3731398 correct for 1957. Casting date K16 (November 1 1956) Exhaust manifolds. Left casting number 3733976 correct for 1957. Right 373397? there is no 7th digit that I can see. Carburetor correct WCFB type with brass rebuild tag dated L6 (December 1956) Fuel pump correct 4460 type Water pump casting number 3736493 correct for 1957 Coil correct 083 type Generator bracket stamped 3704884 Powerglide casting number 3719243 dated K166 November 16 1956. The fluid is clean in the transmission. Radiator dated 1956 . No corrosion or heating problems. The short block is stamped F0426PA and is a later block with holes for sie motor mounts cast into it. The engine compartment has been detailed. Horns 325 and 326 cast H and L. There are pictures of these parts in the photo files. I have owned the car for about 5 years. The car has won a number of trophies when shown locally including: Best Classic Car, Top Ten, etc. I will include the trophies if the car sells and the new owner wants them. There are some dings in the stainless above the vent window on the drivers side. A piece of chrome about the size of a quarter is missing on the right rear bumper extension. In the spare tire well, some paint was lifted by brake fluid from a spare container. See photos. Buying a car online can be risky.
