GMC Topkick medium-duty stake truck. Excellent mechanical, good body condition. Fiberglass hood and fenders will never rust. New seat cover installed. Six-cylinder CAT diesel (model # 3116, 215 HP). Heavy-duty Allison automatic transmission. Our typical loads were two tons or less - very light work for this heavy truck. THREE BRAND NEW DIESEL BATTERIES replaced in last 90 days. Maintained in DOT-approved fleet by state-certified mechanic. This truck always received every mechanical part it needed. Starts, runs, stops and drives well. Has working heater and lights. Fitted with factory air conditioning, but air has not been serviced in years (we typically disable the air in our trucks). Bed was re-planked with synthetic/plastic "Trex" boards. These will NEVER require replacement due to chemicals or dry-rot - will outlast the truck unless destroyed by bulldozer treads, etc. "Trex" upgrade cost about $900.00 original price. NOTE: Three holes of about 2' diameter were cut in the Trex planking, in order to locate the wheels of our implements. Diamond-plate pieces currently cover the holes. You can eliminate the holes by purchasing three 2" x 4" x 9' sections of Trex board, and then sawing them to length and screwing the pieces in. The total length of the bed plus the beavertail is approximately 24'. The top of the bed is 18 feet long by 8 feet wide. The beavertail extends another 6 feet 2 inches toward the rear, and is also 8 feet wide. There is a detachable (bolted on) 4' x 8' headache rack on the bed. The headache rack is located on the bed 6' back from the cab. Attached to the beavertail is a full-width ramp that one man can swing up and down. The beavertail and ramp are heavy-duty. You can load cars, tractors, small dozers and more. Custom beavertail, headache rack and loading ramp upgrade cost $3,500.00 original price. Rubber all around is legal. Front steering tires are good to very good, rears are 40 to 50%. Truck was last plated for 24,000 pounds GVW. No CDL required to drive it. Good fuel economy for a large truck - similar mileage to a large gas pickup. Ready to work! You can buy this truck, climb inside and drive anywhere.
