This is a 1974 VW Westfalia Camper in very solid running and driving condition. You could drive and enjoy it as it is or it would be an excellent restoration candidate. BODY / FLOORS / PAINT: Look at the pictures of the undercarriage -- this is a remarkably solid Westy. The original floors and frame don’t have any rust holes at all. The only rust I have found is under the right-side battery. I don’t see any rust holes in the body anywhere. It looks like there was one repaint awhile ago but it was not a very good one. MECHANICAL: The engine was just professionally rebuilt with new jugs, pistons, rings, etc. and it runs very well. The brakes are also in good shape. It has an automatic transmission. The stove, refrigerator and sink all look to be correct, complete and original, but I don’t know how they work so I have not tried them out. MILEAGE / TIRES: The odometer currently reads 34,345 miles but I don’t have any way of knowing the true mileage (it is mileage-exempt because of its age.) It has brand new radial tires. TOP / INTERIOR: Much of the interior looks original, but the front seats, door panels and carpets could use replacing. The canvas camper top was replaced recently and is in excellent condition. GAUGES / ELECTRICAL: The speedometer, odometer, gas gauge, wipers, turn signals, headlights and running lights all work. There is no radio.
