Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I bought this as a fun summer cruiser for me, my family, and friends, but with a Colorado winter just around the corner, and nowhere I can trust to park it in the city, I figure it’s time for someone else to enjoy it like we did. This is a 1971 Buick Centurion Convertible. Very rare car with less than 2200 convertibles ever produced by Buick. Cosmetically the car no doubt needs work. At the least if you want it right, the car would have to be re-painted, the seats would have to be re-upholstered, the bumpers straightened, and the top would have to be replaced. Now if you’re like me and you just want a fun car reliable car that you would trust your little sister to drive, then this would be the car. I’ve restored vehicles in the past and could go that route with this one, but as said I didn’t buy this car with the intention or restoration or perfection, purely for fun, but if that WERE your intention the good news is that you’re actually off to a great start with this one. Although the convertible top does not function, the top itself is complete with all the bracing to put it together, and tops are still available online to replace this one. The windshield is perfect, the dash pad is near perfect, and the body isn’t rusted out or banged up. In fact the only rust on the car that I can find is a small hole in the passenger quarter panel. Otherwise the body, floors, and trunk pan are actually pretty nice as is. Mechanically this car LOVES to cruise. Thanks to a 315 horsepower 455 V-8 with a 4 barrel carb and turbo 400 automatic transmission. Outside of a dead battery thanks to operator error (we left the lights on) she starts every time, and has taken us everywhere we’ve wanted to go, and although the A/C does not currently work, this is an original A/C car which is another rare option for someone wanting to go the route of restoration. Driving this boat is a pleasure thanks to power brakes with disc up front, power steering, power seats, and power windows (which we never really used anyways). Simply put she drives like a Cadillac. Dirt roads, speed bumps, potholes, you just don’t feel em. It’s as if you’re riding on air. The tires are great and have plenty of miles left. She reads 20,000 on the odometer which I would guess is 120,000 but of course can't say for sure. The gauges and radio do not work, but the fuel gauge does (thank goodness), and all the lights and signals work great. Again this car is not going to win over any judges at the shows for it's flawless condition. It’s just a great car for yard saling, taking the family for a cruise, eating out, parades, etc. This car has given us a lot of great memories, and is just a blast to drive. I’m starting it with no reserve at a low starting bid because I want it to be obtainable for someone who wants just that to buy this car and create their own memories and good times just as we did. So please if you have any questions ask me before bidding and I’ll do my best to answer. Thanks and happy trails! SELLING WITH NO RESERVE AND A LOW STARTING BID SO HIGH BID TAKES IT!
