I have had this 64 Chevy truck for a few years, and it has been my daily driver. It has just over 84,000 original miles on it. I purchased this truck from the original owners daughter, and the plates had expired in 1973. The truck is mostly 100 percent original with exception to the transmission. This truck was originally equipped with a 3 speed manual column shift transmission. I replaced the transmission with an S-10 T5 Five speed manual. This gives the truck overdrive, and it gets almost 30 miles per gallon. I did weld an old school bus shifter to the S10 tranny to give it the right look. The truck runs and drives great. The only reason I'm selling it is because I am moving, and have a new job that requires me to have an SUV. I drove this truck every week to Ohio where I used to work, 600 miles round trip, with no issues. I would not be afraid to get into this truck and drive it across the country. In fact, if you plan to fly into Detroit to drive it home, I will gladly pick you up at Detroit Metro Airport. The engine is original and is a 230 straight six. It does leak some oil, but does not burn any. The clutch has approx 15,000 miles on it, and every part of the braking system was replaced approx 5,000 miles ago. The parking brake even works! The tires have about 10,000 miles on them. All the glass is good, and all the electrical works with exception to the horn and radio. The radio only recently stopped working, and I had to disconnect the horn because it would honk while turning. The voltage regulator is brand new. All the gauges and dash lights work, as does the heater. The heater blower switch is hooked currently to a toggle switch. All the headlights, brake lights, interior lights, and turn signals work. The bed is in nice shape as is the tailgate. The cab needs rockers and cab corners. It has no windshield frame rotout that is common in these trucks. The hood is in great shape. The fenders and inner fenders are very rusty. The tool box and good spare tire come with the truck. If you would like to view the truck before bidding, please email me to arrange that.
