Vehicle Detail
This is a rare vehicle -- a 1928 or 1929 Model A Ford school bus manufactured by Wayne Works, Inc. This rare vehicle would need a total restoration, but the end result would certainly be worth it. Someone started the restoration several years ago and disassembled the bus. As you can see in the photos, I have quite a lot of the original parts. I have all of the window glass for patterns, and all of the metal that was on the sides and back below the windows. I have the original two rear fenders, and also the seats. There is also a lot of the original wood that can be used for patterns. The two doors are there. The engine turns over easily. I did not attempt to start it since I didn't have a carburetor. The front end has no major rust holes, just surface rust. There is one small spot that would need to be repaired. It rolls easily. It has the rear metal panels, and I tried to lay out both sides so you can get an idea of how it would look. If you look up the Wayne Works website, it gives quite a bit of history about these buses. The website also has some really good pictures of what this bus originally looked like. I do not have a title for the bus, but it will come with a bill of sale. I am starting the bidding at $1.00, with no reserve. I plan on selling the bus to the high bidder at the end of the auction, so please ask any and all questions you may have before bidding. Also, you are welcome to come and inspect the bus before bidding. At the end of the auction, once the bus is paid for, there will not be a rush to pick up the bus. I can keep it in a safe and secure place until the buyer can make arrangements to pick it up.
