Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A PROJECT CAR. Although it starts, runs, and stops, it needs a little of just about everything. It is not a car you can drive right to the car show. If it was, it would not be this price! I bought it about fifteen years ago after literally finding it stored in a barn. The shock towers are solid, and it has lots of original parts like the four bolt wheels, hub caps, gas cap, even the owners manual, keys, and key-bob. The radio is not original, besides it only works for brief periods of time after going over railroad tracks. The mileage on the odometer is probably not correct, but then it is a 45 year old car. According to the tag on the door it was originally a six cylinder which would explain the four bolt wheels, but it also has the 289 V8 logo on the fenders. I don't know if the door and tag were replaced or the engine was upgraded. A little detective work could probably answer the riddle. This is another reason I don't know about the mileage as, if the engine was replaced, they may or may not have reset the odometer at that time. My guess is that they did not, but simply let it turn over one or more times. The headliner is falling down. The leather seats have two small (one about 2" one the drivers bucket seat and one about 3.5" on the rear seat) seams which have come apart (an easy fix). The leather is undamaged. just the thread came apart. It needs a new paint job. There is some rusting on both of the front quarter panels, and the rear seat floor pan. The rear panel (where the gas cap is located) had some Barracuda-like lights added which were then inexpertly plugged up. Parts for this car are easier to find than the parts for the car I drive every day. So many people are restoring old Mustangs that NOS and reproduction parts are very easy to find. I was going to go through this car completely as I feel it is worth the work to restore it. I now realize that, at my age, I'm never going to get it done, hopefully you will. It comes with three Mustang restoration books and some misc. parts in the trunk I tried to take honest pictures and give an honest description. Please look at the pictures carefully. I will try to answer all questions. if I know the answer, but please give me a few days to answer as I don't have time to check for messages regularly. The car is available for inspection by appointment and is being SOLD AS IS with NO GUARANTEE OF ANY KIND. I don't want to get involved with shipping, so plan on picking it up. I'd bring a trailer although I have driven it to work and back (abut thirty miles).
