Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 0 1 527 3008 25 6 3694 11.1282 0 0 0 Since I purchased it in August of 2008, I have been meticulous in caring for this truck. The previous owner didn’t drive it much, and it has responded well to being driven on a regular basis. As soon as I got it, I had a local Ford dealer go through the truck to see if they could spot anything that needed work. Aside from replacing the brake pads and adjusting the turn signals, it got a clean bill of health. Since then, I’ve been on top of the regular maintenance and the truck runs better today than it did when I bought it two years ago. The 400 (6.6L) V8 is, with the exception of new components (spark plugs, ignition module, air filter, wires), all original. Most Ford engines of this era are cold starters, and this one is no exception, but once it’s warmed up, it runs strong. The carburetor looks to be a remanufactured 2bbl. Upgrading to a 4bbl was on my to do list, but I never got around to it. It has passed every smog check with flying colors, which is to be expected since the engine has not been modified and has been well maintained. The C6 automatic transmission was rebuilt by AAA certified Orange Transmissions in 2004 and shifts flawlessly. It has power steering and a strong 4x4 system. The transfer case is in excellent condition and looks to have been rebuilt as well, but I can’t find any documentation on it. I could never bring myself to take the Bronco off road, but I did periodically drive it on loose dirt and put it into 4H to give the transfer case a chance to work in 4 wheel drive mode. In 2001, a 9” limited slip rear end was installed by Currie Enterprises. Last year I flushed and replaced the fluids to make sure there would be no problems. The wheels are 33” and there is a slight lift to the truck, giving it a great presence. The tires are all new and have less than 1,000 miles on them (the spare on the back has never been used). In 1999 the truck was repainted its current color. Today the paint holds up pretty well and doesn’t look aged until you get up close. There is a small rust spot at the base of the inside of the tailgate, but aside from that, there is no rust that I’ve found. The previous owner installed a KC trail light system. In addition to the two front-facing lights, two hand-aimed units are included and can be mounted on the interior doors. If you ever want to take this Bronco off road, these might come in handy, but since I used this more as a beach cruiser, I never used them. The interior has been updated to include diamond white paint on the dash and red marine vinyl upholstery on all seating surfaces. A few months ago, I covered the sideboards in the bed with white marine vinyl, repainted the front seat backs in white, and installed new black carpeting. The interior looks fantastic and always gets a lot of compliments. The stereo has been upgraded to a Pioneer head unit and a pair of 6.5” Alpine speakers behind the driver and passenger seats. There is also an iPod adapter in the glove box that runs through the Pioneer system. Also included is a towing hitch included, but since I never tow with the truck, I removed it. There is also a very good quality soft top that that makes the Bronco useable even in the rainy season. When the hardware is installed, putting the top on takes just minutes and really gives the truck a different look. I have loved every second of owning this Bronco, but it’s time to let it go to a new home. If you live in the area and would like to see it, please let me know and we can make arrangements.
