Vehicle Detail

For sale is a complete and running/driving Ford Model A Fordor Sedan Deluxe. This car is in need of a refurbishment, but is likely to be the most complete and well-preserved car available in an original condition. It does not need a complete restoration to make it a show car. This car runs and drives. It could be a reliable driver in 8 hours or less. I bought this car recently from the 3rd owner to dis-assemble, chop the top, and install on a '32 chassis as a rod. However, I'm having a very difficult time bringing myself to do it due to the really nice condition of this car. The tags are in place, the fenders are complete, the doors open and close without rust, the seats are there, all glass is there and its just too nice to make a rat out of. General condition of car: Engine runs well. Still 6V with generator. Water pump leaks a little. Transmission shifts fine. All buttons and switching in tact except for "on/off" switch/key set in instrument panel. Vinyl top on car without holes, but no edge finishing in place. Wood in roof structure is clean and not broken. Doors open and close without hindrance, but there are two missing door handles outside, one missing inside. Windows have all glass and the regulators. They all roll up/down. Interior frames removed, but included. Floor pan at rear is solid with a couple of pinholes, but no other rust. Front wooden floorpan is new. Original front and rear seat, but no track. 5 wheels and tires. Tires are 50+ years old and are holding air, but not road worthy due to dryrot cracks. 4 wheels are nice and road worthy, spare wheel has a broken spoke. All wheels need servicing for refurbishment. Running boards/fenders are original and in great condition. There is a very slight amount of rust through at the front board meeting the step board, but there is adequate metal all around it to make whole again.. Easy fix. Small amount of plastic filler in one rear board, but its solid metal behind the filler and only there for smoothing. Has entry tread and original Ford boot plate. Original Henry fenders with coiled edges. Original operating horn. Original Ford headlamps and glass in great condition. Missing original radiator cap with Quayle, but replacement there. Radiator with rock guard in excellent condition. No leaks, but small tear at bottom of radiator cover from years and years of usage. Hood in great condition with only marrs from hood latches. Front cowl has been patched before. Driver side job is very nice with minimal filler to ease edge. Passenger side patch has filler crack. Easy fix. Cowl structure is great. Small wear at driver's side inner body frame, but its at the floorboard line and would need work anyhow. The car was re-painted and cleaned up somewhere in the late 1980s and paraded around by the second owner. Poor health led it to its 3rd owner whom bought it to restore again, but already had 3 other Model As. I bought it from him on a day he was interested in selling something. Its been stored under cover for 20+ years without much usage. This car is in exciting condition. Rusty coupe and tudor bodies alone go for $3500-4000. Operational powertrains I've seen listed for $2000+. The running boards are easily $300 a corner plus the steps. I could sell this car in pieces for $11-12k, but honestly feel it needs a home with someone that will keep it together. The car is 80 years old and is complete and original.
