Although I am sick to my stomach about selling this car, I can no longer afford it and hope that someone will enjoy it as much as I have. The car is a 1985 Ford Mustang convertible. It is silver with a brand new black top. It has brand new Kirkey racing seats with black covers. It weighed 3180 with a big block and C-6 trans. This car will dead hook on any track surface! Consistent low-mid 1.30 60 ft times while running in the high nine second range. In 2007, I was the national champion in the NSCA's index class with this car. The car was built to run in a 10.0 index class, but the chassis should cert for 8.50. My wife and I recently had our first baby and I can no longer afford this hobby. I hurt the motor a couple of months ago and could not afford to fix it, so I sold the motor and transmission. This sale is for the ROLLING CHASSIS ONLY! Everything except the motor, trans, and exhaust will be sold in this auction. Currently, I have over 16,000 invested in this rolling chassis (6,500 in suspension work alone) The car is in good shape for a race car. It is not a show car. There are paint chips that I have highlighted in the photos on the bottom of the nose. The car was involved in a front end accident before I purchased it. The rad support is bent a little and the front clip is slightly out of line with the fenders. This accident was before any of the suspension work was done. At this point, it is only cosmetic. I guarantee that this car is the best driving race car you have ever had! It goes down the track straight as an arrow every time! The final blem was cause by me. I did not see that there was a folding chair on the ground in my garage and I creased the bottom of the pass side door pulling it into the garage. I have tried to highlight the crease in the pics. The paint on the rest of the car is great and very shiny! The interior currently only has two Kirkey racing seats and no back seat. I just bought a rear seat delete that I have not installed yet. It will be included in the auction. Overall, I would rate the body as an 8 and the interior the same. As I said before, this car has been very good to me and it is killing me that it is sitting in my garage for sale. I am not sure that putting it on ebay with no reserve is the best idea, but we need the money and I cannot stand seeing it sitting in the garage knowing that it will be years before I have the money to do anything with it again.
