Vehicle Detail
1988 Honda CRX HF. Single owner car. I bought this car new in 1988 and have been driving it for the last 22 years. It has been taken care of and regularly serviced over its life. Until recently, I had only put supreme unleaded in the car. Looking at some receipts, front and rear brakes at 294543; water pump and timing belt at 280587; new radiator at 277387; battery at 265946; 30k service at 254155 and oil changes. Newer radio. It still gets 40+ mpg. It starts with no problem and runs very well. This has been a great car and has given me very little problem. I am selling because I have two grandkids with another on the way and my wife's car cannot handle three car seats. WA tabs good through 2/11. Still driving the car so the mileage will go up until sold. Basic model, nothing added. Heater works, but control console is broken (see picture). A strange thing happened with the speedometer cable. During winter, the cable would vibrate loudly and the speedometer would show that I was going 120 mph when I was only going 60. Finally figured out to put some graphite in the cable conduit. But before than, the needle broke so I had to pull off the console cover and epoxy the needle back together. There is a broken piece in the console cover behind the steering wheel that is glued back in. I have to jiggle the key to get the radio on occasionally. Most likely installation issue. No indications of electrical problems otherwise. Had minor front fender bender. Had repaired. Light bump to rear bumper pushed side up and it broke corner of rear light cover (see picture). It has an oil leak. My mechanic says that it is the cam shaft and/or crank shaft seals and would cost about $400. There is rust along the frame below the drivers side door (see picture). Passenger side not as obvious. Front of hood has many rock dings. Windshield has some as well. I had the drivers seat recovered. Tires are decent. Some cracks in vinyl on drivers door. Hatch struts don't keep hatch up anymore. I have tried to cover everything. The car is being sold as is. It does not show any indications of failing any time soon, but at 22 years and 305,000+ miles anything can happen at any time.
