Up for sale is my '61 Triumph 5TA Speedtwin, also known as the Bathtub model because of the unique sheet metal treatment over the rear wheel. I've been using the bike less and less each year, so perhaps it's time it finds a new home. A 500cc twin, with a single carburetor, this was one of the first single unit construction vehicles by Triumph (transmission and engine are one unit). I've owned the bike for at least 21 years, and it had been restored before I took hold of it. Paint is not original, except for the panniers (NOS), however you can see it is perfect match. Two years ago the top end was rebuilt to 30 over, one more to go. Since then, I haven't put on 100 miles. There are some nicks and dings on the paint, and the panniers have been bent a little at the bottoms, but the bike has never been down. Windshield is NOS, installed about two years ago. Engine runs great, compression is strong, starts easily. Bike has been converted to 12 volt. Comes with several articles on the bike collected over the years, two original manuals, one from '60, one from '63, an original brochure, with options listed from '61.
