Vehicle Detail
1981 Short wide box pick up selling at NO RESERVE. Specs are: Brand New 350 small block chevy engine with 4 bolt main caps. Previous owner installed, had approx. 100 miles on it when I purchased it in Dec. 2009. I put approx. another 200 miles on it myself. Had big plans for the truck to customize, but am selling due to work relocation. RV Cam Edelbrock Torker II aluminum intake Edelbrock Thunder series 650 CFM 4 bbl carb (vacuum secondaries) T350 trans (new seals) Original rear end (standard diff, not posi) New exhaust from headers back New Gabriel shocks front and rear Twin fuel tanks (new switch and actuator) Class III Reese hitch Disk brakes in front, drums in rear (all work fine) Spray in Bedliner (excellent condition) Original rims w/beauty rings (right rear is missing hub cap, easy to find) Body is lightly customized, NO BONDO ANYWHERE, body is laser straight Paint is decent, but has a few flaws New windshield and rear glass Two wheel drive, lowered slightly (previous owner did the lowering, seems to be a nice job) No Radio Nice truck for its age. Previous owner had over $7K into this truck, I have not found the time or ambition to do much to it. Tires will need to be replaced soon. They are good for a couple hundred miles, but I would not be driving all over the country on them. That is the ONLY thing it will need. This truck runs great, rides great, and stops great. To summarize a few of the flaws - air conditioning, passenger door electric lock, horn and drivers side window(works, but the gears internal to the door need replacing) all need some attention. Previous owner used this truck to haul hs drag car in Kansas. The only winter weather this truck had seen was when I drove it to Saginaw from Lansing. It's been stored when the snow flies. Also the truck has the big 7 in. round RV trailer hook-up. The frame is solid as a rock, even the undercarriage. Just selling for the cash due to my move to TN form MI. Additional info: Cab corners are solid, no rust. Door bottoms and corners are starting to chip paint and show some surface rust, but are still solid. Floors are solid, but I've no taken the carpet out, they look good and solid from the underside. The rear bumper is surface rusted and pitted. The truck is AC capable, but it isn't working at this point. I'm not sure if it's the compressor, refrigerant or electrical issue. Passenger door window works fine.
