Vehicle Detail
Here we have a very nice CALIFORNIA Chevy Suburban. The truck is 99.98% rust free. The inside of the cowls are nice. It has two NOS rear fenders. The glass and seals are very good. As you can see in the pictures, the exterior & interior are in very nice shape. Here's some details: Engine, Transmission & Rear End are all from a 1959 truck. NO TORQUE TUBE!!! Open driveline!!! Good highway speeds and a full pressure engine with insert bearings. Engine starts right up & runs very well. No smoking or weird noises. This driveline is a pleasure to drive. 4 speed transmission on the floor shifts very well...no jumping out of gear. Clutch release feels good. Engine has plenty of power. I don't know the exact mileage of this truck...speedo was rebuilt & reset. Interior is very nice. Seats (all 3) have been correctly recovered. Third rear seat has some scratches on rear metal panel from moving it around. Seat padding is good & they are comfortable to sit on. Interior paint & dash are nice. All gauges work, as do all the lights and turn signals. Headliner is good, sometimes in humid weather they warp a little. Floor mats are near new. I moved the front seat back about 3" that you can see in the pictures....I'm 6'4" and I'm very comfortable driving it (a great modification!...can easily be put back to its original position if you desire). The front floor drivers side has a small hole about the size of a penny. The rear wooden floor is near perfect. The rear seats can be removed and reinstalled easily. Tailgate has only 1 cable...it needs a new one on the other side. These are available from Chevy suppliers. I believe a cable for a mid 50s Chevy wagon will work here. Chrome & stainless are all in excellant shape. The paint is very good except for 3 very small bubbles (1 on the front drivers fender and 2 on the rear drivers fender). It is believed by me that the bubbles were caused by something being on the body when it was painted. I don't think they are caused by rust. The rear fenders are NOS. The bubbles will not show in a picture so I can't show them to you. I never did anything about them cause I was thinking of painting all the fenders with a contrasting color to two-tone the paint job. The Suburban would look so cool with a two-tone paint scheme. By the way, the paint is a correct 1952 Chevy color, I think its called Tucson tan or something like that. The underneath of this truck has no issues and is solid. Accessories...some very unique accessories are on this truck. See the GRILL GUARD, the STAINLESS STRIPS on the fenders, the HOOD ORNAMENT, the STEERING WHEEL, the tissue dispenser....these are all in excellant condition and are worth some big $$$. Take these accessories into account when you consider the price of the suburban. I've enjoyed this truck...not much to do for it to be perfect....just enjoy it as it is. This is a quality vehicle and is a good, fun investment that can be enjoyed for years. I'm selling it to raise some cash for my daughter's upcoming wedding. I'll post the VIN# tomorrow. Upon purchase, if the buyer doesn't like the vehicle at pickup I'll cancel the deal & refund all money except for my ebay fees...that's how confident I am that you'll love this nice truck. Email me for additional pictures or questions at carlthekid@hotmail.com. Update. I checked the Suburban's body with a magnet. I found a small amount of filler in the outer cowl and between the doors and the rear wheels at the very bottom of the body where it curves inward just above the running boards.. The amount is not significant as the magnet just has less power. There is a small area (about an inch circle) on the passenger side between the door and rear wheel with some bubbling. This is not visible unless you are on your knees because it is just above the running board & is hidden if you are standing next to the truck. I just want my description to be as accurate as possible...as if you were here examining the truck........I couldn't find filler in any of the doors, fenders or tailgate. Today I added the VIN# 3GPB4767
