Vehicle Detail

Just purchased this pickup a few weeks ago and before I got it transported from Portland to Phoenix, I accidently found something else. So It’s up for sale. It is a 1946 Ford PU – really a clean rig, originally from Nevada. It was taken up to Oregon in 2000. It has Historical Oregon plates and tags. The owner had purchased it in the late 90’s while living in Nevada; and did an exterior and drive train restoration on it, which included paint/complete brakes/new exhaust/motor etc. It runs as quiet as any flathead I've ever heard so I tend to believe him. I drove it the other day 20 miles in 100+ degree heat and had no issues, though I would adjust the idle up a notch. It also was completely rewired with turn signals and a modern fuse system. I bought this sight unseen, except for the photos and the seller was upfront. I had no surprises when it arrived. What this rig needs is the interior redone, which was not a big issue for him. In checking out this while waiting for it to get here, this is what it will cost to do the interior: bench seat recovered $200 floor mats $100 card board interior headliner kit $175 truck bed oak bed kit $300 or save some and get the rails and go to Home Depot and save $100 He just put a new plywood piece in. So, I figure for $1000 you can do all the above and more and have a nice completely done driver. The truck had 15” radials on it, but I found a local guy changing out a ‘48 and bought the stock 16s with tires with 3000 miles on them. The speedometer and fuel gauge did not work and I just purchased a nice original low mileage cluster on ebay for $200 and was guaranteed all qauges/speedometer tested to work. These just arrived yesterday. He figures the rig does not have more than 15k on the motor since rebuilt so the orginal cluster just purchased will go nicely since it only shows 16k on it. A good place to start with a new rig. So, what you see is what you get. The reserve is $6500 - so if you’re going to bid on it, bid to buy it. I'm open to a Jeep Willys Flatfender of equal value if someone has one we might do something. Feel free to contact me with any questions. The rig is as described with the usual no warranty, etc.. I also have this vehicle listed locally so reserve the right to end this auction early should someone purchase it locally.
