Vehicle Detail
Not an ordinary 2009 CTS-V. This is a thunder gray/ebony interior, all optioned vehicle with just 6,700 original, one-owner miles. Specifically, the options include: 19 inch polished aluminum wheels Ultraview sunroof (front and back) Navigation System w/ XM Nav Traffic Service Recaro Seats V Specific Sueded Steering Wheel and Shift Knob Many features are standard on this vehicle, including XM radio, On Star, Dual zone AC, etc. Now, for the extra features: one starts with the base motor, a ZR1 6.2L 556 HP superchared V8 and 6 speed Auto Trans. From there, I sent the car off to D3 Research and Design (check them out at www.d3cadillac.com) in California, where specially trained Cadillac engineers added certain features to enhance the cars performance. I had them install the Stage 2 peformance package, which includes the following modifications/enhancements: (NOTE: I did NOT have them go into the motor itself. The reciprocating assembly remains totally stock. That's the beauty of the ZR1 motor -- it's so durable and well built, it can withstand a lot of additional horsepower without any problems). Stage 2 includes at D3 includes: high performance air intake system and heat sheild Corsa Exhaust System (the quieter of the two systems offered but still very nice) Headers and X-Pipe Modified Balancer and ?Blower Pulley (to increase boost) Performance Plugs High Performance Supercharger Belt Dyno tune (numbers below) In addition, I added the following ehancements: Methanol Injection System (runs off the washer fluid system to minimize changes and for simplicity) Intercooler Resevior and Intercooler Upgrade for enhanced cooling HID Fog Lamp Coversion System (brighter and bluer light effects) You'll see from the chart in the picture section that these enhancements added over 100 HP and Torque to the rear wheels! Importantly, the 556 HP that is advertised on the CTS-V is NOT to the rear wheels. Rather, it is to the flywheel, which is NOT the actual HP hitting the road. In reality, that 556 HP tranlates into 495 HP at the rear wheels and 519 ft lbs torque (still amazing). So that's the base dyno test. As you can see from the chart, the car NOW puts out 592 HP and a whopping 622 ft lbs torque to the rear wheels! A net of about 100 HP and torque to each measurement without going into the motor. Yet, the car drives as smooth and gentle as stock on the road, with all the quality, feel and handling you'd expect from a European Sports Sedan. However, when you step on the gas, the motor snaps your neck back and pulls hard through an amazing power band. Scarey really. I welcome any serious buyers to come see it and drive it.
