Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1998 BMW R1200CA. I am the original owner, and I still love the bike, but I just don't have time to ride it any more. it is ivory color with navy blue leather. It had 18,636 miles when I took the pictures today. It may have a few more miles on it by the time the auction ends. This bike has tons of extras. Here is a list of the extras that I can think of right now. If I think of any others I'll add them to the auction listing: BMW Short Windscreen. BMW Navy Blue Leather Covered Hard Saddlebags BMW Navy Blue Leather Comfort Riders Saddle BMW Navy Blue Leather Comfort Passenger Seat BMW Muffler Guards BMW Engine Guards BMW Auxilliary Power Outlet BMW Clear Turn Signal Lenses & Amber Bulbs G&G Passenger Grab Rail, Sissy Bar & Luggage Rack Combo Techlusion R259 Fuel Injection Controller Works Performance Front Shock JetHot Coating on BMW Header Pipes Wudo Chrome Front Fender Trim Renegade Driving Lights run by BMW Phoenix Model Fog Light Switch Brake Buddies (LED lights on either side of the license plate bracket that blink red when the main brake light is on) This bike has had all of the full factory recommended services, with oil and filter changes every year, and the full "6,000 mile service" done at 6,000, 12,000 and 18,000 miles. It has been on a battery tender so the 2 year old battery is good and the bike starts first time, every time, and it runs good. Now for a couple of minor issues: This bike has sat a lot over the past couple of years. I did manage to change the oil every year and put a couple hundred miles per year on it, but it hasn't been washed good in a few years and as a result a lot of the chrome has some light surface rust spots. The fuel filter was replaced last year with one that is external to the fuel tank, and I think that the mechanic who did the work didn't put something back together correctly, as the low fuel warning light no longer comes on, but I always reset the trip meter when I fill up, and I refill it when it gets to around 140 or 150 miles, so it hasn't been an issue for me. The windscreen has a hazy coating that I haven't been able to clean off. I'm not sure what it is, but I have only tried soap and water. The windscreen is made of polycarbonate, and the dealer I bought the bike from said not to use Windex, but I don't know what other cleaners might be safe to use on it. The windscreen is the short one anyway, and anyone tall enough to ride the bike will be looking over the top of it. It is mainly to deflect the airstream up and over your head and to keep the bugs out of your teeth. That's everything I can think of about the bike. I have tried to be as honest as possible. This bike is for sale for local pickup only. I will not ship the bike. The winning bidder must pay $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of the auction closing, and the balance within 10 days of the close of the auction. The $500.00 deposit can be cash or Paypal. The balance must be in cash. I will not accept any checks or money orders. On Aug-07-10 at 11:38:07 PDT, seller added the following information:For those of you looking to make legitimate bids, please excuse the following. I guess that I did not make it clear in the original description. For those of you thinking to pull some kind of scam, or thinking that you can actually get me to work with a shipping company to get the biked shipped to you. YOU MUST COME IN PERSON TO PICK UP THIS MOTORCYCLE. I WILL NOT DEAL WITH YOUR AGENT OR SHIPPING COMPANY. WHOEVER COMES TO PICK UP THE MOTORCYCLE MUST HAVE CASH, AND I WILL ONLY TRANSFER THE TITLE TO THE PERSON THAT SHOWS UP AND PAYS ME THE CASH. The law here in Pennsylvania is that you must come in person with me to a Pennsylvania title transfer company and show your personal identification (Drivers License) and have the title transfer duly notarized to make the title transfer legal. Otherwise, you will not be able to obtain a legal title for the motorcycle in whatever state that you live in. I hope that I have made myself clear this time.On Aug-08-10 at 04:16:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, in the answer to the question below about the hours of the tag & title shop, I said "So if you come any weekday before 8:30 pm". What I meant to say was "So if you come any weekday before 8:00 pm".On Aug-08-10 at 07:49:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I have uploaded some close-up pictures of some of the surface rust spots to photobucket. They are higher resolution than ebay will let me upload and I wanted you to see the best pictures possible so that you know what you're buying. After looking at it, most of it seems to be some sort of white mineral deposits rather than red rust. The picture of the right side cover shows this the most. The front (to the right in the picture) shows the white stuff, and the center and towards the rear (center and left in the picture) where my knee rubs against it while I'm riding, and this area is nice and shiny, so I don't think that it would be too difficult to buff or polish everything out. The pictures of the fork seals, the engine guards and the Wudo front fender trim pieces do show some true red rust spots, but they look to be surface rust and should come out with some chrome polish and a little elbow grease. I just haven't had the time to even wash it much less polish the chrome. here's a link to my photobucket album with the pictures: http://s714.photobucket.com/albums/ww150/Nouveau_Redneck/R1200C%20Pictures/ I don't know if the link above will be click-able or not. If not, just copy and paste it into your browser.
