Up for auction is a 1980 Triumph Spitfire. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A GREAT RUNNING SPITFIRE TO FIX UP A BIT WHILE BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT AROUND OR IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT PARTS CAR, OR IF YOU WANT A FIXER UPPER, THAN THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU. CONDITION. As best to my knowledge. Car has not been on the road for two years with little road time before that. ENGINE: Runs well and no current issues. Strong runner and hopped up a bit, runs smooth and is quick. Rebuilt some time ago. Very little road time since. Serial Number: FM29568UE. Be sure to see the other engine that MAY BE the original engine for this car for sale here on ebay. That serial number is: FM13948UCE. TRANSMISSION: Shifts great, does not grind, no issues as of this writing. BRAKES: Stops the car well, strong pressure, no issues. CLUTCH: Strong no issues. STEERING: Good and tight FRAME: Appears strong all around with the exception of the left rear area where the quarter panel is. The suspension piece there will need re-welded due to rust through. . SEE PICS WHEELS Stock, steel, seem good roll true TIRES Should be replaced if driven daily GLASS Great, not cracked and all there TOP Good, would keep the rain out, not perfect but good enough that you will not need to buy another one, not rotted, plastic good, all over strong TONNEAU Good, zipper tabs broken, some snaps missing, overall good Boot cover, Good, not torn, ripped or rotted, all snaps present SHEETMETAL - Tilt nose good, straight, and strong, latches down tight, very nice, chrome bumpers installed, SEE PICS, , some rust but minimal in the lower corner of the fenders, very slight. Under the fender bulkheads, small spots, not very big, SEE PICS. Doors, overall very good, strong, hangs on hinges strong, shuts and latches strong. Trunk lid, primered, straight, no rust, hinges well, latches well. SEE PICS FOR INSIDE OF TRUNK AREA, GOOD, STRAIGHT, AND APPEARS TO NEVER HAVE BEEN HIT. Rear quarters, left rear quarter needs repaired or replaced, all rust cut out, right quarter some rust through very slight. Rockers, left side needs replacing, rocker is cut out.SEE PICS. FLOORBOARDS ARE SUPER SOLID AND ALL ORIGINAL, SEE PICS. INTERIOR Recovered in vinyl, amaturer recover, seats are strong, carpet is good, door panels are good, dash is nice, gauges are not broken out glass is good, heater works well enough to roast coffee beans, stereo not hooked up, Jensen speakers behind seats, surface mounted - no speaker holes drilled. Carpet good, Steering whell nice, OVERALL INTERIOR IS VERY GOOD, Shifter orig. and nice. OVERALL SYNOPSIS OF CAR - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LEFT REAR QUARTER, FRAME SPOT, AND ROCKER PANEL THE CAR PRESENTS ITSELF WELL. STRONG RUNNER AND A DRIVER TO BOOT. SHEETMETAL OVERALL IS VERY STRAIGHT AND NOT BANGED UP BUT AGAIN, WITH SMALL AMOUNTS OF RUST HERE AND THERE. THIS IS A CAR THAT NEEDS MORE TIME PUT INTO IT THAN MONEY. USUALLY IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND. GREAT CAR FOR YOU IF YOU WANT TO FIX IT UP AND STILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT AROUND. I DROVE IT HOME AND ALSO RECENTLY AND IT GOES FINE.
