Up for bid is an extremely hard to find truck. This 1987 Ford Ranger 4x4 diesel looks almost as good as the day it was bought new. This has the 2.3 Turbo diesel motor which is very rare and extremely rare to find one in 4x4. One owner vehicle with some maintenance records. Has 198,000 miles (odometer is only 5 digit) and has been meticulously cared for. The paint still shines like new and there is no rust through anywhere. In fact, the only rust is a little bit of bubbling on the surface under the cab corners. The rockers, floor boards, fenders and every other body panel is rust free! Very hard to find a 24 year old 4x4 truck that is rust free let alone a compact diesel one. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears anywhere. The factory A/C blows ice cold and the heat works great as well. Everything works except the tachometer. Was working until 2 weeks ago then went out- not too sure what is wrong with it. The 5spd manual shifts very smooth and the clutch grabs like it should without slipping. The transfer case shifts in and out of 4x4 smoothly and the locking hubs turn easily as well. The truck has a little seepage but NO leaks. I had it parked on concrete in the same spot for 3 weeks without ANY drips. The injection pump has been rebuilt and turned up a little- it lets out some black smoke when you step on it. Could be easily turned back down if the owner would like to. It has an aftermarket air filter on it but the factory air box will come with it as well. After it sat for 3 weeks, it started right up like a brand new truck. Again, everything except tach works like it should including glow plugs. I have never had a problem starting it in the cold. Brakes and tires are in good shape with alot of life left. Within the last 1000 miles it has han an oil change, new timing belt, and new heater core. The bed had a spray in liner in it that has faded and worn over the years. Clear title in my possession will be given to the winning bidder once payment in full has been made. They don't make them like this anymore.
