Up for sale is a 1983 Ford Ranger with the 2.2L diesel engine. This truck has a 4 speed manual transmission and is 2 wheel drive. I am starting the bid low as this truck has seen a lot of use and is in rough shape. The truck does run and drive, and could be used for parts, as a work truck on a farm, or as a possible biodiesel / WVO conversion. The ignition key for the truck is missing, it starts by turning the ignition where the key would go. Something in the ignition must be broken to allow it to turn without a key. I have owned the truck for 5 years and I have always started it like this. The truck comes with a set of 4 studded snow tires mounted on rims. The truck has a little over 200,000 miles on it and is in need of a water pump ( the pump is leaking behind the pulley). This truck does not have a lot of horsepower and accelerates very slowly. Replacing or cleaning the injectors may be able to help this. The truck also has a bad spot on the fly wheel ring gear. Sometimes it takes 1 or 2 tries before the starter catches. The frame is rusty but still solid, the body is starting to rust through around the wheel wells, and the bottoms of the doors. The floor pan on the drivers side is also rusting through and will need a piece of sheet metal. There is a small crack in the upper right corner of the windshield. This truck could be driven a short distance but due to the water pump I would recommend towing it home. I am not trying to discourage anyone from looking at this truck, I just want to be honest about the condition it is in.
