Vehicle Detail
Hello,You are bidding on my 1985 Dodge Omni GLH. This GLH was originally a high output, non-turbo GLH model. It is an original non-A/C car with no other options. I purchased the car about 4-years ago down in lower Pa. When I purchased the car the interior was half torn apart and the engine bearly ran. The previous owner swapped in a low milage 2.2 Turbo II motor with the 2-piece intake, stock intercooler and included the A-555 getrag 5-speed transmission. During the past 4-years this car became my hobby. I completely revived the car to become my daily summer cruiser/ultimate sleeper. This GLH is currently inspected and plated. I have dedicated a cardomain page to this car so if there is anything I missed check out the page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2360561/1 Engine/Trans: The engine is a 87 Shelby Z TII motor with roughly 75,000 miles on it. Engine does not smoke or make any wierd noises. One of the first fixes was to to update the wire harness with an 88 unit out of a Shelby Z. Within the past 4-years I changed the oil pan, water pump, timing belt, head gasket, starter, alternator, installed magnacore wires and ngk plugs. I replaced almost all of the sensors and the fuel pressure regulator. It has a stage 3 calibrated SMEC from FWDperformance good to 15psi of boost. I have a stock SMEC and manual boost controller included with the sale. No emmisions control devices were by-passed. All vaccum lines were replaced. Exhaust is 3" from the turbo to muffler with a hi-flow cat and Magnaflow straight through muffler. I have a couple of misc engine parts that will go with the car including an extra forged crank and rods. The transmission is a low mileage A555 from a daytona. The clutch was replace about 2-years ago with a LUK clutch and throwout bearing. The flywheel was swapped out as well for a clean low mileage unit. I have an extra complete A555 that will go with the car. Body: This car spent the majority of it's life in West Virginia and Southern Pa so there is no rust anywhere on this car except a very small spot on the left rear drip rail. Real easy fix. The underbody is super clean, floors and trunk pan are clean. The gas tank and straps are new and painted with POR-15. Quarter panels, doors, fenders and hood have no rust. The GLH wears its original Garnet Red paint. There are spots on the car where the paint is faded, The hood and roof are the most faded and some primer is showing. Fenders look real nice no major dings or dents, all 4-doors except the passenger front are in real nice shape, the passender door has some small dings. I have an extra set of ground effects and brand new decals that go with this car and I have a real GLH turbo hood that has rust and needs some TLC. Overall this GLH's appearance makes it a great looking sleeper! Interior: The interior is complete and in beautiful shape. I completely stripped it out, cleaned it and replaced any broken pieces. I completely stripped the old 85/87 under dash harness and used the 88 Daytona harness. Adapted all 85 instruments and controlls to work with the 88 harness. Doing so the car now has a SMEC, cruise control, trip navagator and optional plug-ins for power accessories. I changed the carpet, headliner and front dash valance to black. The radio is an am/fm cassette/Cd player from a late 90's Jeep Cherokee and it is hooked to 4-infinity speakers: 2 in the original door locations and the rear speakers installed in the trunk cover. The speedo has the 125 overlay, the boost/vacuum and air/fuel gages are loacted on the a-pilar and function properly. I'm also including a instrument bezel with a series of LED's that can be used as the air/fuel ratio gage instead. Tires/Wheels: The wheels are "crab" wheels off of 88 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z, they are 15in diameter wrapped with new 195/55 Kelly Charger GT tires with about 500 miles on them. They're in real nice shape but there is a half dollar size paint chip on the passenger front wheel. I have the original GLH wheels that will go with the car they are straight but need to be polished. Brakes: I upgraded this GLH with 4-wheel disc brakes from a 88 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. The rear rotors have been turned and pads replaced and I installed new rear e-brake cables. Front discs, calipers and pads were new last year. 4-wheel disc master cylinder and proportioning valve from the daytona were installed. I grabbed a set of Dodge Carvan front caliper brackets if the next owner wants larger brakes on the front. Suspension: I upgraded the front suspension with Poly-bushinged, POR-15 coated, Caravan lower control arms and a 1-1/4 OD poly-bushed front sway bar from the Daytona. Front shocks are KYB GR2's and all strut bushings were replaced. Front springs are FWDperformance that are heavy duty and lower the car about an inch. The rear suspension recieved new gas-adjust KYB struts and mounting hardware. The Springs are stock. I will include the set of performance rear springs to match the current front set. I'm selling this car because I'm ready to start a new project. I've driven the car for 2 summers and put about 10,000 miles on it and I've never had any major issues driving the car daily here in NY. Right now the car is ready for daily driving and street/strip racing. Next thing I was going to do to this car was upgrade the fuel system. I have a new hi-output pump to install but it would need injectors to complete the upgrade. If there are any questions please e-mail me. The car is currently in storage and will be availible to view on the weekend of the 31st of July in Wellsville, NY. Thanks and good luck!
