Vehicle Detail
I have had this car since 1987 and it has been sitting in the shed since the early 90's. I had full intentions of restoring it but other priorities have changed that. It runs and drives just great. There is a 302 and c6 in the car now that are in perfect running order. Power steering and brakes are good. This a GT Deluxe s-code car. Originally it came with a HI-PO 390 at 335 horsepower. I do not have that motor but do have a 2 barrel 390 out of a late 60's pickup and the c6 trans that bolts to the 390 that go with the car. I also know where an actual hi-po 390 for a mustang is at that I could possibly put you in touch with. With this being the deluxe model it has most of the options. There is an overhead console with map lights, a center console, deluxe seats and door panels, tilt away steering wheel, engine guages, turn signal indicators in the hood, and air conditioning. Air conditioning does not work since no compressor on the car. On the performance side it has disc brakes on the front, a 9 inch rear axle 3.25 ratio with limited slip, and GT wheels. Two of the wheels have the wrong chrome trim rings. The bad thing about this car is the sheet metal. There is no perfect piece of metal on it. The frame rails, floor pan, and rear quarters have all had poor repairs done. The headliner and front seats are ripped. It also has been a mouse nest for the past 10 years and needs thoroughly cleaned out. The gas tank is very rusty inside and plugs the fuel filter up quickly but does not leak. It is solid enough to drive but won't win any awards the way it is now. But with what I see cars like this are worth, I believe it would be well worth your time and money to fix up. Or just drive it. The fastback mustang is definitely an eye catcher. Please feel free to ask questions. Happy bidding!
