Vehicle Detail

INTRODUCTION: The 57 is being relisted FOR SALE due to an accidental bid! Up for auction is our all original 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air. This 57 has classic charm with great drivability! We’ve had a blast driving this car not only to shows, but also on frequent errands and weekend excursions. We are the second owners of the car. Mr. Harper – a family acquaintance purchased the car new at Reliable Chevrolet in Meridian, MS. We have owned, enjoyed, & maintained the 57 since 1994. If you are looking for an extremely original car that you can hop into and drive anywhere, then this is the car for you. We love this car and hate to sell it, but it’s time to let her go. It looks great & is extremely reliable too! Please take the time to view all of the pictures below – Thank you. BODY: The fifty-seven features all original GM sheetmetal. It was completely repainted once in 1994. The two-tone Highland green lower color mingles beautifully with the Surf green upper color. All of the glass is free from cracks and breaks; the windshield was replaced around 2000 miles ago. The paint shines with its metallic depth, but has a couple dings and a scratch on the front right fender shown in the pictures below. All of the stainless is original and still has a bright luster. The bumpers show their age and are great driver quality. MECHANICAL: The original 235ci six cylinder has been professionally rebuilt featuring all new components. She starts, idles, and runs great. She was treated to a carburetor rebuild and full exhaust treatment 2 years ago. Clutch was replaced when engine was rebuilt. The original 3 speed transmission shifts flawlessly. The front suspension & steering has been maintained & repaired. The brakes have also been serviced – they are original style drum binders on all four corners. The matched white wall tires have minimal wear and are the original style and size. The whole car is extremely tight. You can literally shut the doors with the slightest pressure of your finger! Grip the 18” steering wheel, turn the key, and drive a piece a history! INTERIOR: The Chevy wears the same interior it was born with except the carpet was replaced with OE style Danchuk threads. The front & rear seats sport circa 1965 Western Auto seat covers with the original covers beneath. The driver’s seat shows some wear and the door panels need to be repaired. All of the lights work and the heater is free of leaks. Though the original radio is complete and turns on, it does not play. All of the stainless is intact and in great condition! Thank you for taking the time to view our 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air. If you have any further questions or want details on this auction, then please feel free to contact Clay at (770)827-2865 or email Z28clay@aol.com. The car is also listed FOR SALE locally; therefore, I reserve the right to end the auction early. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction's close; the remaining balance due before or at pick-up of the car. Buyer responsible for vehicle pick-up or delivery. Don't miss the opportunity to own an icon! Thank you again - Happy Bidding!
