Vehicle Detail

1978 Lincoln Mark V – Cartier Edition This has been the most highly optioned Lincoln I have owned along with the most documented. This car has been titled to only 1 owner its whole life. All documentation and original title, manuals, maintenance receipts and window sticker will go with the purchase of this vehicle. Before I tell you about this vehicle, let me tell you the history I as I know it. The car was ordered in December 1977 which I have the original $100 receipt from the purchaser when he left the deposit to locate the car. The car was delivered in January 1978 to its original owner. The car as I mentioned earlier is highly option and the window sticker reads as follows: The base price of the Mark V $12,099 The Cartier Upgrade $1800 The 460 7.5 liter V8 $187 The power moon roof $1027 Axle-traction lock differential $67 Dual Exhaust $75 Fuel Indictor-Miles to Empty $125 Illuminated Entry System $63 Readlamp convenience group $133 Dual wide band white wall tires $52 Defroster Group $115 Steering Wheel Tilt $77 Speed Control $127 Seat Reclining Passenger Side $85 CB Radio $321 Quadrasonic 8 Track $373 Windshield Wipers Interval $35 Appearance Protection Group $69 Mirror Right Hand Remote Ctl $37 Power Lock Convenience Group $115 Power Vent Windows $89 Molding Rocker Panel $29 These options have raised the price to $17,379. In 1978, you could buy home for that. Upon delivery in 1978 and all the way up to 2010 this car has remained in the garage both in NJ and Florida (during winter months.) In 1993, the car was completely stripped and painted and then new bumpers and a new vinyl top were installed by a certified Ford Body Shop (receipts to prove it.) Shortly after that the car was stored in a climate controlled airplane hangar (fully enclosed and free of any moisture or weather) until I purchased it on 7/19/10. I have every receipt for maintenance. Aside from me cleaning the car and putting fresh fluids and gas in it, the car starts and runs excellent. In the 1978 era of vehicles, bigger always meant better. And before imported luxury came to America such as Mercedes and BMW, there were two names in the American language that meant luxury and status, one of them being Cadillac and the other Lincoln. The exterior of the vehicle has been restored in 1993 by Ford, the interior is original. I have taken over 100 pictures to show you the condition of this car. I will explain to you the things you can’t see or feel. The 460 power house engine runs smooth without hesitation, smoke, knocks or taps. The tranny engages nice and strong and shifts perfectly. All belts, hoses, shocks, tires and brakes are all road worthy and will probably make a long trip anywhere, but remember, the car hasn’t been driven much in the 17 years so use common sense. The exhaust is safe but you can hear some minor air leaks towards the rear of the car. I’ve driven the car about 30 miles with speeds nearing 55 mph with no problems whatsoever. The door lock solenoids are a little noisy and the clock works then stops working but then works again. Also, the sunroof works but the switch only opens it. When I couldn’t get it closed by the switch I jumped the switch and it closed no problem. Either the switch is bad or needs to be cleaned. The sunroof motor works flawlessly. The a/c clutch kicks on and the clutch engages smooth and cool air blows out of the vents. Both turn signals work but the indicator bulb on the dash for the right side does not light up when in use. The antenna doesn’t go down all the way but goes up and down with the switch. CB and radio work but I don’t have any 8 track tapes to check the tape player. Power windows work great and all the seats work too. The things I just mentioned are very minor but wanted you to know. The interior is all original and does show very minor wearing on the driver’s seat. Look at the pictures to really get an idea. However, all being said, this is a turn-key car that you could drive or enter into car shows. It’s that gorgeous!!! Oh, and one thing I found amazing is that on the original window sticker this car achieves 18 MPG on the highway. Please, I search long and hard for cars like these and if I could keep them all I would. However, I can’t. So I am proud to offer you this vehicle to enjoy and love. I am an honest seller and I encourage you to email any questions you may have, and if I can’t answer in an email I will supply my phone number to you so we can talk over the phone. I’ve shipped Lincolns like this overseas and I encourage anyone, anywhere and anytime to bid on this beauty. Thank You for Viewing. Payment: $500 non refundable deposit via PayPal immediately after auction ends. Final payment must be in cash or certified funds. Car, keys and title will be released only when funds have cleared completely. Also, I will work with any shipper and store the car for free for however long you need it to arrange for shipping. The car must be paid for in 7 days. If you need any more pictures taken of anything I missed, please let me know. Also, I have only taken some of the pictures of the maintenance receipts, but I have a lot more that are either stapled in bundles of 20 or more. Thanks Again.
