Vehicle Detail
This is a 1967 Ford LTD....essentially a Loaded Galaxie 500. This is a 2 Door hardtop Galaxie with the LTD trim option. Z code Thunderbird 4V/390 V-8, 390-4V, 300 hp @ 4600 rpm, 427 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm, 10.1:1 compression ratio with C6 Automatic Transmission. The owner of this car passed away and the car was parked in 1991 and has not been driven since. I replaced the battery cables and condensor and it started up on starting fluid and ran well with no smoke or noises. The keys were lost over the years so I have no keys for it(Any decent locksmith can make you keys for it). I bought the car as a project but realizing I have too many projects already I need to pass this on to someone who has the time to restore it. The Door data tag reads Body(63A); Color (X); Trim (2D); Date (16M); DSO (21); Axle (8); Trans(U). This car was originally Vintage Burgundy and has had 1 repaint over the years and was originally ordered out of the Atlanta, GA district...this is a true Southern car that has been in the South all its life. The Floors are perfect with no rust! The ONLY rust I have found on the car is the very back of the Trunk floor(typical for all these cars), a spot in front of the LR wheel the size of a dime or nickel and a spot behind the RR wheel the size of a quarter. The doors, fenders, hood and trunk are solid and rust free. The front edge of the hood has been pushed in slightly and is repairable(especially considering there is no rust). The Carb is not original...it is a parts store replacement with a date of 1986 on it and the original air cleaner is missing...otherwise it is all original. I removed the power steering belt because of the cooler hoses has been cut and it leaked but everything worked. It needs a new fuel line and most likely a fuel tank given the length of time it has sat. The brakes do not work...after all the car was parked for 20 years..the brake pedal is solid and I suspect it needs a new master cylinder and/or booster but I would replace everything for safety sake. The car has power steering, factory Air Conditioning and Power drum brakes. The LTD emblem for the grill is in the car and in nice shape; I have both the Roof round medallions that say "LTD" as well. This was originally a black Vinyl top car but the top was removed long ago and the roof painted black. The trunk latch does not work. The amazing thing is that there was not a single mouse nest under the back seat of this car!! I've never come across that before...it is rare to find an old car that hasn't attracted mice! The mileage could very well be original given the condition of the car...most these old cars didn't get driven like we do now. The Driver side of the bench seat has deteriorated and of course needs reupholstering. All windows function properly as well. All the headlights even work and the high beams are original Ford lights and they work as well. Doors all shut nicely and solid...no worn hinges which also indicate the mileage could be original. It does need exhaust...one of the pipes caught on the trailer(tires were flat when it was picked up and I had no air) and it damaged the pipe on the passenger side in front of the muffler. This would be a great and fairly easy restoration project given how solid it is! It would be a fantastic parts car but it would be a crime to part out such a solid car! Alabama does not have titles for cars this old and are sold on a Bill of Sale, this is accepted in any other state as they recognize the Alabama laws. If you live in a title state they will issue you a new title with the Bill of Sale from me. The car will need to be towed as it is not driveable. The car is located 30 minutes North East of Birmingham, Alabama. I have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to cancel bids and end the auction at any time for a local sale. The car is available to see in person, just contact me to set up a time. A $200 deposit is required within 48 hours via paypal and pickup of vehicle is to be within 7 days from close of auction unless prior arrangements have been made.
