1970 Dodge Challenger A66 Performance Package. This was only available with the 340 engine. According to the paperwork I recieved from Galen Govier only 2819 of these were made with the 4- speed transmission. What the package consists of is heavy duty suspension, 26" radiator, larger brakes. and all equipment standard on R/T packages. This car even has a unique mistake on the fender tag as it is stamped with a production date that doesn't exist 9/31. Chrysler is famous for flaws on the tags as well as mixing broadcast sheets in the wrong cars. This car is NOT #'s matching however is the proper date code drivetrain. The 340 engine was taken apart and rebuilt late in 2009 and now has approx 900 miles of use on it. It was built by Wheeler racing engines in Blaine MN the same place that build engines for some very reputable restoration shops. It is bored and stroked to 380 c.i. High lift cam, forged pistons all the good stuff and made 421 hp on the dyno. Compression is 9:5:1 so it runs on pump gas perfectly. 4 speed was freshened and a new Mcleod double disc clutch installed. 3:55 gears in the 8 3/4" rear. Suspension is all new both new HD leafs and shocks in the rear and all new front end, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, torsion bars etc. This car goes down the road straight and tight. Car was originaly burnt orange ext. with orange int and a black top. Now has show quality B7 blue with black int and a black top. Paint was done in 2007. I have owned this car for 8 years and has been a fun project and the car is a blast to drive. I have won several trophies with it. It is a turn key car everything works. Wipers, radio (AM) ignition time light, map light, glove box light, door buzzer, trunk light. Trunk is even detailed correctly with space saver tire. I am selling it due to I have another project to work on and want to finish it. It has been decoded by Galen Govier and is in the Chrysler Registry and paperwork will go with the car. This car was inspected and appraised by a certified classic car appraiser for insurance reasons and came back at $32,500 to which I have the paperwork. I am only stating that as to give a better idea of the condtion of this car. Reserve will be much lower than that as sadly thats where the market is at. Winning buyer MUST deposit $1000.00 within 48 hrs of auction close to paypal account. Funds to be paid by certified funds only at time of pickup. Buyer is responsible for pickup.
