Vehicle Detail

This 1985.5 Porsche 944 is a decent, rust free western car from the state of Idaho. It was sold new by the Boise, Idaho Porsche dealer Treasure Valley Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi. It sold for $27,170 plus $1,630 state sales tax. I have a copy of the original purchase order and the window sticker from the car. This car is unmolested, all original except for the Sony CD player. It has a clean Idaho title and bill of sale. I recently bought this car from a young local National Guard member who bought the car about 5 years ago with the intention of someday doing a Chevy V-8 conversion to the car. He deployed to Afghanistan in late 2007, and parked the car until he returned. When he came home he had other pressing issues like providing for his family, so the car was put on hold again. He and his wife found out recently that they are expecting another child, so he reluctantly decided that he better sell his toy to pay for family needs. He also faces the possiblity of another deployment so he feels there is no time or funds for a toy like this. There are quite a few repair orders and receipts that different owners have kept with the car over the years for service and needed repairs. They include such major things as: Engine oil cooler R&R at 120,109 miles. At the time of this service the mechanic told the owner that he felt the car would need a clutch within the next 15,000 miles due to measured wear on the clutch disc. The car runs and drives nicely, and the clutch feels normal, but one should figure on a clutch replacement within the next 15,000-20,000 miles. The cost of a clutch kit costs about $525 for all the parts thru www.partsgeek.com The car has a new battery, and the clutch master slave cylinder was replaced at 108,000 miles, as well as the coil, and ignition sensor on the flywheel and tune-up. The timing belt was replaced at 103,000 miles. It may have also had other replacements, but this is the only service receipt that I have for the car for this listed repair. The radiator was replaced at 96,000 miles, and the master brake cylinder was replaced at 90,000 miles. The climate control dash unit was replaced at 83,000 miles, and the water pump was replaced at 73,000 miles. This car has had regular oil changes and service over it's life. There were other repairs that were not major that I have not listed here but do have the work orders and receipts for them. What needs some TLC? The paint on the hood, roof and rear view mirrors is starting to fade and peel as seen in the photos. The dash has cracks under the dash pad, and the driver's seat will need some upholstery work, as seen in the photos. The driver's side rear view mirror glass was broken and the mirror glass was replaced with a spot mirror, as seen in the photo. The right rear taillight lense has a small crack in it. There are numerous small parking lot dings as you would expect in a 25 year old car. The A/C unit will need a recharge, the compressor is working fine, and is not stuck but the freon is low in the A/C unit due to sitting and not being driven for the last 3 years. Included with the car is a new Haynes Repair manual for the Porsche 944, and of course the winning bidder will get the orginal window sticker, the orginal purchase order and all the repair and service receipts, as well as the original owner's manual. This car runs and drives well, the brakes work well, the transmission shift well, the Fulda tires have 60-70% tread. Remember, this car is 25 years old, and is not a new Porsche. But it is not priced like a new Porsche either! (If you have read this far, just FYI- and if you are a serious bidder- the reserve is set at $2K.) Full payment will need to be made by the winning bidder within 7 business days end of the Auction. Payment to be made with bank certified check or cash, I don't use PayPal. The car can sit at our property in SW Idaho (near the town of Parma on highway 95, which is about 45 miles west of Boise) for up to 90 days at no charge while the winning bidder makes arrangements for shipping or can come and pickup the car in person. If you are not serious, or are just a goofball or scammer, please don't waste my time, just don't place bids for the fun of it! If you don't have at least 10 good feedback recommendations, or if you have a bunch of negative feedback, then I reserve the right to cancel your bid unless you contact me before you bid and get permission to bid. I don't have time to deal with deadbeats, scammers, goofballs, etc.
