Vehicle Detail
This Grand Wagoneer has been my daily driver for 14 years. It was sold new in Texas where it stayed until the mid 90's. I purchased it in 1996 from the second owner here in Nashville. Always well cared for and meticulously maintained, it is ready to drive anywhere. Garage kept since I purchased it, this SUV has seting for 6 people plus plenty of room for cargo. This rust free beauty received a new paint job less than a year ago (the factory paint looked good, but it was dull), new 31X10.50X15 tires on the original wheels (less than 1000 miles), new carbeuretor and fuel pump, passes emissions test here in Tennessee and has current tags. Recently installed remote keyless entry, new alternator and A/C has been converted to 134a. All power windows and locks work, AM/FM/CD with front and rear speakers, Flowmaster muffler with aluminized exhaust, new headliner. All side glass seals, tailgate weatherstrip and rear glass seals are new. I also have the original wood trim pieces and new 3M woodgrain vinyl for the sides, as well as all the Grand Wagoneer emblems, original bumper jack and owners manual. The 360 V8 runs like a top and has plenty of power. It doesn't burn any oil and it starts and idles perfectly. Compression is even and within spec on all 8 cylinders. 4X4 works great with the flick of the switch and the running gear is the 3.73:1 ratio (AMC 20 rear and Dana 44 front). It has a transmission cooler and a 2" receiver hitch out back. The transmission/transfer case was replaced about 30K miles ago (with a Jasper) and shifts perfectly. The fog lights and cruise control work. I installed new gas shocks, brake pads and shoes a few years ago. All the U-joints, rear axle seals and bearings were also replaced. The front end and steering is tight and all suspension bushings have been recently checked and replaced where necessary. This Grand Wagoneer has all the power options (no sunroof) and just about everything works as it should. Exceptions are the power drivers mirror and the tailgate window switch on the dash (there is a hidden switch mounted on the tailgate, see pic). It will leak a drop or two of oil overnight, but nothing serious. The front seat upholstery is a bit worn and the leather has a few tears. The back seat also has a tear and there is a crack in the dash pad (see pics). The Jeep always had a slight vibration around 60 mph but it has never been a problem and doesn't affect comfort or drivability (I think the driveshaft is slightly our of balance). I can't think of anything else, I always tried to fix anything that wasn't right on this classic. Please let me know if you have any questions...
