Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The last of the line. 74 was the end of the true B-body. And this 73/74 body style is the one of the all-time finest Mopars. Classic grille, sleek powerful body lines, and operable quarter vent windows with no post. Additional pictures of this car are available online at http://s932.photobucket.com/albums/ad167/lumpee/1974%20Plymouth/ Mileage is estimated at 101,289. Odometer reads 1289. Has rolled over, but actual mileage is unknown. This car was re-done in 1999 - body, paint, interior, engine, and all that goes along with that. It was done to be a head-turning daily driver, not a restoration. And it does turn heads. It's a beautiful car. It was driven daily for three years, and has been in storage since 2001. Engine has been run regularly and serviced, and it has been driven occasionally. Has developed a few leaks from non-use, and will require a good going through of seals, brakes, etc. from just sitting. This is a solid California car. There was no rust. Other than a bit of minor rash under the vinyl top, and some very minor crud on the door bottoms. Vinyl top trim and side molding holes were all welded up. Premium Dupont basecoat / clearcoat paint over sealer. Not a perfect paint job, but pretty damn close. Excellent depth and shine, but there are some tiny specs. There are a few very, very minute stone chips (head of a pin) and two very minor dings. You really have to look for them. Several small “cracks” have developed in the putty at the roof rail line. There is some road rash and scraping on the bottom side of the front valance (underneath the car). Typical, but not visible. The rear valance was damaged by a motorcycle near the license plate. Has been pounded out but the valance needs to be removed, finished and repainted. As you can see in the pictures, it’s behind the license plate and not that noticeable, and it's not a difficult or major repair. Bumpers were not re-chromed, and have light pitting and scratches. Lights and trim are all in reasonably nice condition. The interior was re-done in gray and black. Classic bench seat (for snuggle-up cruising) with tweed cloth and lots of leg room. 2 spoke Tuff Sport steering wheel and a true Rallye dash with all original Mopar gauges. 150 MPH speedometer, factory Mopar tach, oil pressure gauge, temp gauge, ammeter, fuel gage. 3 speed hide-a-way wipers. Remote adjustable side mirrors. Electric trunk release was added from a 1977 or so Cordova. Inside hood release. Seating and seatbelts for six. And the annoying seatbelt interlock system and all associated wiring have all been removed. 4 coaxial speakers in front doors and on rear deck. No sound system included. There is a dash cover installed over the cracked dashboard cap. Specs and stuff: 318 ci V8, Torqueflite A904, 8 ¼ rear end. Stock motor. All smog equipment has been removed. MSD ignition and a 2bbl Carter with a Mopar electric choke heater. Starts easy and runs strong. The engine has between 40k and 60k miles on it. Transmission – hey it’s a Torqueflite. Column shift. Dual exhaust, undercar shortys. Power steering and brakes. Front disc, rear drum. 15 x 8 American Racing mags. 255/60s in rear, need replaced. 215/60s in front, in very decent shape. Rear air shocks. The air conditioning system had been partially removed from this car. The condenser, evaporator, vacuum servos and lines (tested and working) are already installed in the car. The following used Air Conditioning parts are also included but not installed: compressor and brackets, underhood lines/hoses, underhood wiring harness, underdash wiring harness, A/C control assembly (electrical switches and vacuum switches tested and working). Should have just about everything to finish the system, except for miscellaneous hardware, pulley(s), and belts. Compressor condition is not known. Known issues: The speedometer/odometer is not working. The plastic gear in the transmission tailpiece has apparently failed, and probably needs to be replaced. The tachometer had worked fine, but now it isn’t functioning. A cruise control operating lever and wiring harness are installed. There is no servo/controller, and you would need to change to a two piece speedo cable, if desired. Also included is a brand new spare radiator (from another project, but an identical drop-in). Other miscellaneous items I know are missing are the dome light lens, map light lens and panel, the rear ashtrays. It could use a new dash cap, the dashboard top is sun cracked. But it has a very nice custom dash cover.
