1991 Ford Bucket van. Needs work on the bucket controls (maybe a short, maybe a fuse? I don't know) This van was purchased for my business 4 years ago by bucket trucks usa for 15,000 dollars. I used it occasionally for a year. When I received it, the generator did not put out the proper voltage so eventually I spent $3k to have the generator rebuilt at an onan dealer. While the van sat at the generator shop for nearly 6 months, I purchased a newer Ford bucket van to use. When I got this one back, it sat for a year in my garage. Last fall I took it out of the garage on a sunny day to take some photos with the intent of selling it on ebay. When I raised the boom up, the generator which controls the hydraulics for the boom, stopped suddenly. The generator will not crank from any of the 3 start-stop stations. I think it is a wire from a safety lockout somewhere, but i do not have the manuals or the time and energy to work on this. It could be a very simple fix, but then again who knows. It was suggested to me that there could be a short in the boom harness, but again who knows. If you have the time to tinker on it, it would be a great work vehicle. We used it for overhead electrical work, but I used it at home for painting, tree work etc. It has a 35' working height, or 30' to your feet straight up. The van has low mileage and was repainted before I bought it. It also has brand new snow tires (not studded) all the way around. The engine is a 351 V8 and runs great. It always starts right up and goes good. I put a new battery in it five minutes before the generator stopped working. If this auction ends without a sale, I will remove the boom bucket and re-list the van as an empty work van. Ps - I can jump the solenoid at the generator and it will crank but not fire. Again, I think there is a safety mechanism preventing this from starting. For the sale, I can open a valve to lower the boom for transportation. It was shipped to me on a flatbed. On Jul-01-10 at 17:02:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction- I found the paperwork from the generator rebuild. The total was $2498.69. The date of the payment was 10/24/08. Since then the bucket has not been used at all. The generator ran fine until I raised the bucket for photos and it stopped.
