Vehicle Detail
This 1983 Scrambler has had a complete frame off restoration and is one of the finest, mint, and show condition Scramblers available on the market. The Jeep was pulled from the frame and was sanded and stripped completely. The truck was primed with an all urethane primer and then painted in jeep rubicon flame red (color code pr4) using an acrylic urethane single stage system. It was completely painted underneath and on all surfaces. This combination was chosen for durability and chip resistance and makes for a stunning Scrambler as seen in the pictures. When the body was set back on, all new polyurethane mounting bushings and all new mounting bolts were used. Stainless hardware was used throughout the restoration. New tail lights and guards, new turn signals, new head lights, new stainless grill, new rock crawler rear bumper, new stainless front bumper, new side mirrors, new door handles, new rubber, new fuzzies, and felt. New windshield, all new glass in doors. New 3" side step bars on cab. ENGINE: AMC 360 V8. It was taken apart, cleaned, and totally rebuilt. It was re-ringed, and received new bearings, new roller lifters, new oil pump, new water pump, and new timing chain. The cam shaft is a .480 lift. The heads were completely disassembled and refurbished with a 3 angle valve job. Heads are covered with new AMC finned aluminum valve covers. Ignition is new MSD 6AL ignition module. The 360 is also equipped with a new Edelbrock performer dual plane intake with Holley 650 dual feed double pumper carb. Holley air cleaner new. Exhaust is Hedman Hedders and new Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The jeep has a great, healthy, "mean" sound to it and will get up and go. (It is a V8 cylinder NOT a 4 cylinder as shown in the description). Alternator new, power steering system is all new. New cooling system new fan blades, new radiator, . The T-176 Transmission is NOS. Clutch Borg Warner. 4x4 system is heavy duty. Brakes are all new, new master cylinder, new springs. Seats and seat belts new, new center console, dash new. New gauges, new speedometer, new Tach. All knobs, lights, cables new. New steering wheel. Mickey Thompson 15x8's wrapped with BF Goodrich All Terrain Radials. I added new spare tire and new, swing out tire holder. I added brand new original style air conditioner that cools great and cost $2000 to install. . I added an original style AM/FM radio/cassette player along with 2 new speakers in the dash plus 2 very nice speakers behind the seats for an awesome stereo sound. In three years I have only put a little over 2,000 miles on this jeep for a total mileage of a little over 6,000. It has been garaged and never driven in the rain or near rocks. It is like going back to 1983 and driving a new Scrambler - literally every bolt, wire, etc. has been replaced as new. It turns heads everywhere you go and will cruise down the highway wonderfully. You can take it to car shows and enjoy the compliments. Truly one of the finest restored Scramblers anywhere. Please note the appraisal I had done for insurance purposes that shows value over $24,000 - my reserve is well under that amount. Also please note that the full body pictures have some glare that makes the body/paint look like it has waves - it is only a reflection - the body is spotless and paint job excellent - Serious buyers only please bid.
