Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1967 Chevelle SS 396, a true 138 SS *SEE NOTE* Serial number 138177A136049 This is a rare and true 138 VIN 1967 Chevelle SS 396. Black on Black. It was originally an automatic transmission car with a bench seat. There are 61,690 miles showing on speedometer. The speedometer cable is currently not connected since the transmission was replaced with the 4-speed, but no one has driven this but me so it might have an actual 60 or 70 more miles on it than what is showing. This car has FACTORY electric windows and tilt steering wheel. It was brought to Florida from Canada and was previously registered in Canada. VIN plate indicates the Chevelle was built in Atlanta. Before I could get it registered and tagged in Florida, it had to be verified by a regional representative from the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles. He certified it as an original car and approved my application for the Florida registration which is current. The previous owner was a mechanic from Canada and he modified the car at my request with the 4-speed installation, bucket seats, and console. There is NO RUST on this car anywhere and NO BONDO. It is in excellent shape. The speedometer dash lens still has the automatic transmission indicator but replacement panels are available without that lettering. I’ve just never had it done. When I got the car 6 years ago, my intent was to show it locally and drive it sparingly, since it is in such good shape. Life issues changed my direction and I have truthfully never even put an entire tank of gas through this car. I took it to one show, and it has been covered in my garage ever since. The engine doesn’t even have the break-in miles finished yet. The dashboard does not have a radio-delete plate, but I located a period-correct AM radio that I will include with the car. It is not installed. This is the car I always wanted when I was a kid, but just couldn’t get it. I finally got one when I was 50 years old, and now I just don’t have the time to enjoy it. Come and get it. *NOTE : In the interest of full disclosure I must make a correction to the above statements. I was removing some items from the trunk and discovered evidence of a previous repair on the right rear trunk support bracket. I only found this when leaning into the trunk and looking up from the bottom. The repair is small and insignificant, but it was done with Bondo. Today, 7-16-10, a gentleman came to look at the car and we discovered some additional evidence of previous repairs. There was a section of bondo on the left side trunk lip and also on the right side quarter panel rocker in front of the wheel. I had not noticed this before. Also, on the left side rocker, the paint has cracked a little bit there also. I am being completely honest about this because I don't want any surprises. I also now have 3 offers on the car. There is also a small oil leak found in the area of the power steering pump. I can't find the leak, just found a small spot under the car. Full disclosure, no surprises. Thanks. Car has the following options and modifications: - New Carpet - New bucket seats - New aftermarket console - Era-correct 396 big block, .30 over - Accell electronic ignition - Edelbrock manifold and 4-barrel carb - Muncie M-21 Transmission - Factory 12-bolt 4:11 posi-traction rear end - Factory electric windows - Factory tilt wheel - Factory power steering with radiator support mounted pump reservoir tank - Factory power disc brakes - Triple black paint - Headers and Flowmaster mufflers - BF Goodrich P275/60R15 rear, P21570R15 front tires - Factory Rally Wheels Engine and transmission are not numbers matching to the car. Engine is from the 60’s era with the following work: 13:1 compression, big dome pistons, bored .30 over, Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock 4-barrel, angle-ported heads, roller rockers. Transmission is a Muncie M-21 4 speed. High flow engine headers, Flowmaster mufflers, 3” dual exhaust, power disc brakes (front), power steering, 12-Bolt 4:11 positraction rear end. This Chevelle has NO RUST and NO BONDO. Things to complete: engine break-in, radio installation, locate/install a console clock (not there), change out the dash lens, connect speedometer cable to transmission. There is no local shipper available in this area. The closest one would probably be about 40 minutes from here, possibly in the Winter Haven or Lakeland area. I will assist in loading it with the shipper of your choice. I require a non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction end by Paypal only. This vehicle is being sold as is and no-return. Please ask all questions upfront and I assure you complete and accurate answers. Please allow me appropriate time for response. I have a perfect feedback rating and I wish to keep it that way. I have bought and sold several vehicles on Ebay in the past 8 years and have never had a problem with any of them. Ebay cars I have bought or sold include: 54 Ford hotrod truck, 55 Chevy Pickup, 66 Mustang, 68 Barracuda, 69 Mustang, 70 Dodge Dart, 70 Road Runner, 72 Chevelle SS, 73 Mustang Convertible, 77 Corvette, 84 Mustang GT, 97 Mustang convertible, 2002 PT Cruiser. Please note: This Chevelle was NOT purchased through Ebay. I bought it directly from the previous owner in my hometown after he brought it down from Canada. I am not now nor have I ever been a dealer. I used to own a welding repair shop and had a hobby of getting these old cars, playing with them for awhile, and then moving them on. I had intended on getting my dream Chevelle and keeping it forever, but stuff happens. Get it before I change my mind.
