1999 Pontiac Trans AM :: WS6 :: CONVERTIBLE :: 3,300 one owner miles! Thanks for viewing this ‘as new’ all original 1999 Pontiac Trans Am – 30th anniversary edition. Yes, you see it correctly. This one owner perfect GM product is the 742nd manufactured in 1999, out of only 1500, one thousand coupes and only 500 convertibles. If you can find another offered for sale, does it only have 3300+ original garage kept miles? This jewel should be in a collectors display! The color combination is stunning. You will find original paint everywhere without a blemish. The Artic white exterior is highlighted with deep sapphire blue striping. The factory seating is again flawless in GM original leatherette. Mechanically, this pristine collector’s item performs as expected. The powerful 350 cubic inch, 330 horse power V8 performs like the day she left the showroom. The WS-6 performance package adds the kick when you want to punch it! The WS 6 performance package offers the added features of: Ø Tuned Suspension Ø Dual Exhaust Ø Multi-spoke Blue Tint 17 inch Wheels Ø Functional Air Scoops Ø Power Steering Cooler Ø P275/40 ZR 17 Goodyear Tires The automatic transmission flows and shifts to perfection. All glass and molded plastic is without blemish. The carpet is stain free, and the rear seat hasn’t been occupied. All windows, switches, lighting, and electrical parts are fully operational, except for the power driver’s seat. The vehicle has a fresh Virginia state safety inspection. Drive it across country if you desire. The trunk mounted original Delco factory installed 10 disk C/D changer operates properly. The tires are near perfect Goodyear P275/40ZR17 installed on the factory blue tint wheels. The blue tint wheels harmonize so well with the cloth POWER convertible top. You can see in the pictures a rear seat cover which produces a ‘bat mobile’ look. It was ordered and color coded to this vehicle from a supplier in California. We’ve not seen another like it. The dual exhausts offer a midlevel roar fitting this American sports car! OK – so what is keeping you from securing your new prized possession via the buy-it-now option? One part of this vehicle history needs review. In September 2006, Virginia was visited by hurricane Ernesto. This beautiful Trans Am was in the original owner’s garage elevated on a vehicle lift. When the waters rose, they reached the passenger compartment of this gem. As best I can determine, with visual review, and based on the assertion of the owners, the water elevated to the floor boards of the interior. The driver and passenger seat cushions did get wet! The water was not in the center console. This passenger and driver’s seat tracking does exhibit surface rust due to the water. THE DRIVER’S SEAT POWER CONTROLS DO NOT WORK! PLAN THAT THE MOTORS ARE BAD! The vehicle was NOT entirely flooded or damaged mechanically. The original door panels do not show signs of water damage. In October 2006, the insurance company paid the owners for an ‘owner retained’ water damaged vehicle. I have a copy of the original claim and official documents from State Farm. The owner had the interior carpet and the driver seat cushion replaced at a professional upholstery shop in Hopewell, VA. When the waters subsided the car started instantly and was immediately driven off the lift. After some months, the starter failed and was replaced. The owner believes this was a byproduct of the Ernesto event. There have been NO other problems or issues since. The true negative of this event was NOT significant damage, but rather a CARFAX labeling of this vehicle as a flood/salvage. I have the Virginia title in hand with states, ‘WATER DAMAGE’, not salvage! This is NOT a salvage vehicle, by state records! I equate the title marking to be similar to a theft recovery without vehicle damage. Also, CARFAX shows the ‘salvage title/certificate flood damaged title issued’ on 3/11/1999. This is incorrect! I am currently working to have that corrected. I have a statement from the State Farm insurance company clearly showing their actions, and a report to the Division of Motor Vehicles as being – owner retained water damage on 10/02/2006. Don’t let the above deter you! This car is special and new in every way. I HAVE MARKED THIS VEHICLE AS 'SALVAGE' BECAUSE MANY STATES WILL TRANSFORM THIS TITLE TO A SALVAGE, RATHER THAN WATER DAMAGE. THAT IS NOT THE CASE IN SOME STATES, SO YOU MAY WISH TO CHECK WITH YOUR MOTOR VEHICLE DEPARTMENT TO SEE. HOPE THIS HASN'T CREATED UNDUE CONFUSION FOR ANY BUYERS! THE MECHANICAL CONDITION HAS BEEN EVALUATED WITH A SNAP-ON HIGH QUALITY SCANNER. EVERYTHING MEASURED PROPERLY. THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, OR REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS NOT COMPROMISED BY WATER.
