Offered is my Mercedes Benz 380SLC that has been driven regularly by me for the past year. The SL series Mercedes has become an icon for the 1970s and 80s and here is an example that you can enjoy tomorrow. It became the car to be seen in because it offers performance, style, and exclusivity in an attractive package. Just look at the exterior styling and the interior dash and you'll know that they truly do not make them like this any more. This is a SLC that runs, is in good shape, and makes a great tourer. But, in fairness, this vehicle was made twenty-nine years ago and if you look close, she shows her age. The lower windshield has a crack, the rockers and rear window have rust, the a/c is inoperative, the rear window on the driver's side does not work. Despite these shortcomings, this is not some garage queen that has spend years under a cover. She has been driven regularly and made a 600 mile trip last fall with ease Also, in the past four years, much work has been done. The brake master cylinder has been replaced, along with the front calipers, rotors, hoses, and pads. The transmission has been rebuilt. The fuel pump and filter have been replaced. The tires have about 10,000 miles on them. I installed a new battery last summer. And there is a trunk full of parts that I had acquired for the car and never got around to installing. I believe she would cruise easily to either coast, but cannot guarantee what will happen given the age and mileage. You can assume the risk and drive her home or bring a trailer. It's garaged in Terre Haute, Indiana, about fifteen minutes north of Exit 11 off Interstate 70. The buyer will have full responsibility for shipping and will trailer it home or arrange for a shipper. A non-refundable deposit of $500 US must be received within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full must be received within ten calendar days after the close of the auction and the car must be removed within twenty calendar days.
