Vehicle Detail
A good friend let me in on a secret today; he’s had a 1940 Ford Tudor Deluxe Sedan stashed away in a warehouse for years. It has 71,602 original miles, still original black paint, never wrecked or even apart. He’s the third owner, sold in South Carolina, then to Arizona and now in California. It’s not as-new off the showroom floor, but at least a 7.5 for originality points. The paint could use a color sand and polish, undercarriage is really clean, used sure, but wow! A little gunk on the rear end and some oil splash about mid car, not bad though and defiantly not abnormal. The car runs wonderful, drives just as good, you would be proud at any show or cruise night. The interior is clean clean clean, seats are great, floors are good, carpet is nice, trunk is great, even the wood base is good. The car also comes with the Original leather key fob from the South Carolina dealer she was first sold from. The photos really tell the story, please ask questions, inspections welcome before the auction ends. In the trunk are extra new and used parts like: Tail Light lens Various Dash switches Horn Wire harness Oil bath air cleaner Original heads Original intake Spark plugs and more Engine: Original block standard bore 221ci Edelbrock 2x2 aluminum intake, period correct 2 Stromberg 97’s Offenhauser aluminum heads, period correct MSD Electronic ignition/distributor Fenton Headers Interior: All gauges work correctly Original AM Radio operates great and sounds amazing Deluxe floor heater Original horn sounds like a diesel truck! Three speed on the tree Steering wheel is excellent Handles are clean including the escutcheons All of the dash even underneath is clean NOS Parts Installed: Shocks Exhaust system Clutch Door Rubbers Wood Floor Boards Brakes Coker Whitewalls Minor Imperfections: One fog lamp has a rock chipped lens Drivers wind wing and side window have some small edge separation between glass, not bad at all for original glass Paint needs cut and polish or color sand and polish Stainless in very good condition, some very minor pitting starting on headlight rings Rear transmission seal leaks a little from sitting, typical Ford Other than that, just normal use… The car could be driven as-is, or pull the hood off and lower her a couple of inches, or hot rod her, whatever your choice, this is a great car…… Car is sold as-is with no expressed warranty...
