Overhaul of the cylinder head, resurfaced, machined, bored, honed...with new pistons & piston rings, intake & exhaust valves, manganese valve guides, tappet set, rod bearings, cam bearings, upgraded 6 blade fan, replaced water pump and belts, and much more for a completely rebuilt engine that roars like a lion. TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH, SUSPENSION, STEERING, FUEL & BRAKES Transmission is 4 Speed with OVERDRIVE. REBUILT with new reverse gear, 1st gear assembly, cluster gear shaft, laygear assembly, and more. Clutch has new Clutch Cover, Disk, and Release Bearing. Clutch/Brake Master Cylinder Rebuilt. Suspension has pricey German made Bilstein Shocks Front L/R & Rear L/R which give the Healey an awesome ride. Steering was machined, new wiring harness through shaft, and upgraded to polyurethane bushings. See Photos. Brake/Clutch Master Cylinder Rebuilt. Fuel & Brake Lines & Hoses Replaced. Carburetors Rebuilt. CHROME & WHEELS Chrome is either excellent original, replaced, replated or custom chromed locally. Custom chrome plating includes a 2nd valve cover, brake lever, shifter lever, dip stick, and various brackets. Carburetors also have chrome dampers. This car comes with 4 60 Spoke Chrome wire wheels and a spare wheel and tire in the trunk. EXTRAS & UPGRADES Soft Top, Tonneau Cover, 2 Side Curtains & Storage bag, 2 Fog Lamps, Leather/Copper Knock Off Hammer, Chrome Luggage Rack, Chromed Valve Cover and 2 Brookland Type Racing Screens. Chrome tip dual exhaust was added to car to give it that extra touch. There is also a Battery Master Cut-Off Switch located in the trunk as an anti-theft device. ADDITIONAL NOTES: I am not going to attempt to describe every scratch, nick, or defect on the car. Most of the car is in very good shape, but there are signs of wear on the soft top, tonneau, and side curtains. They are functional, but the constant stretching of the top has caused the vinyl to rip a little at the latch points. I have rarely used the side curtains, and they may need some adjusting for perfect fit. All of the gauges work, but the speedo may read a little fast, and because I told the clerk that the odometer has reached it's mechanical limits she put odometer discrepancy on the title. Odometer reads 8,172 plus, but actual mileage is 108,172 plus. Driver's leather seat has a minor scuff mark on it. TERMS OF SALE: A $2000 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of the close of the auction is required. Payment must be made by certified check that is verifiable by my bank in U.S. dollars only or a bank to bank wire transfer. The balance is due within 7 days of the close of auction. You are entering into a legally binding contract so do not bid unless you intend to own this car. Good luck bidding. A Little History about the car: I originally bought the car in 1986. It was unrestored and much of it was in boxes. I even drove it home without a windshield on it! I chose this car over other Austin Healeys because the undercarriage is very solid and because it is a rare 2-Seater. I like the look of the 2-Seater over the 2 and 1/4 or 4 seater if you prefer. The previous owner had new metal floor boards, panels, and sills welded in and I rust proofed/coated over the original paint and underneath. It has held up very well because the car has always been garaged. It started out as my college car, then I got married, got a house, and had a kid. I sold it in 2004 to invest in my house, then bought it back in 2006 and now I'm selling it again in 2010. I have owned it for 22 of the last 24 years, if my math is right, and I have enjoyed it as a single person, with my wife, and with my son. It is time for someone else to enjoy it. An approximate breakdown of the mileage would be 82,000 around 10-06-1986 as an unrestored car, 105,326 around 04/2006 and 108,072 around 06-07-2010, so as you can see there are not very many miles on the Restored Car. The last 4 years average around 2746 miles driven total or 686 miles per year. I simply don't drive it that much. I have taken it to a few car shows and won, and some pleasure driving. I have a binder of receipts for the restoration of the car and trophies won. I am very strict with the maintenance. All fluids are changed on a regular basis, and grease nipples pumped with grease. The next owner will be getting a very special car!
