Blown head gasket. The X5 developed a mysterious water leak a few weeks ago. It did not seem to be leaking very much and no one could figure out where it was coming from. There were not any puddles, just the fluid level running low. It had an appointment with the mechanic this week, but it stalled out and was towed to the mechanic instead. It will start and run. It has a lot of nice options listed below. It had recently got new tires, new brakes- rotors and pads three weeks ago, new front axles 4 months ago, and many other items done just this year. It had passed the state safety and emissions inspection in March. I have most of the maintenance records, the manuals in the leather cover, and two master keys and aux. keys. It also has a trailer hitch installed. Now for the cosmetic condition: It has a very small tear and a few dirt scuffs in the headliner, the shift boot leather has come loose in one spot, The drivers seat has some small cracks, the other seats are perfect, three small door dings a few minor scratches and minor paint flaws. The headlights need to get treated for the yellow cloudy haze. The pictures of the interior were taken this week, the pictures of the exterior were taken about 1.5 years ago. I can't take good exterior pictures because of it being it a tight lot at the mechanic's shop. The exterior looks the same except for the headlights, which developed have that cloudy haze now. I tried to photograph these flaws. I had purchased the X5 when it was two years old with 44,000 miles, and had drove it for one year only put 5,000 miles on it. I could not justify the car payment for such a nice vehicle. I had let my ex-husband take the X5 and make the payments on it. After this sad event happened last week, he no longer wants the X5, and is now driving a Cadillac SRX. I am still in the same situation. I commute to work on my bicycle and have two Audis and a Ducati sitting home collecting dust. I really do not need another dust collector. The gas milage for the manual is a little better than listed below. According to the in-dash computer, it is getting 19.0 average.
