1996 Chevy Lumina Sedan For Sale Mechanic owned and maintained. We are parting with our old reliable family sedan. The car has 173,200ish miles(I am still driving everyday to work and back). This is and has been a great car for our family it has never let us down and gets 27 mpg on the open road. I would drive it anywhere, and as I stated above this car has been mechanic owned and maintained. I am an ASE certified mechanic and I have always performed oil changes every 3,000 miles with Penzoil 5w30 oil and a fresh oil filter every time. I have installed a new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, front brake pads, rear wheel cylinders, etc within the past year/3,500 miles. I also performed a transmission flush, cooling system/radiator flush, and a fuel induction service on January 3rd of this year. I installed new tires at the beginning of last year and they still have a ton of tread left. The car runs out and drives great. Engine runs smooth and operates to specs with no burning of oil or any other mechanical issues. The transmission shifts great and to specs with no slipping or any mechanical issues. There is no check engine light or any other warning indicator lights on and no electronic and/or fuel/exhaust sensor issues. This is just a nice reliable budget friendly car that runs great. Now that I've listed all the good, time for the bad or semi bad. My wife hit a deer at the beginning of May with the car. The right side of the car has cosmetic/body damage. It really looks worse in the pictures than it does in person. The front right fender is dented in, the right front passengers door has a dent and the plastic door handle is cracked, the right rear door has a dent, and the right rear fender is dented over the wheel, there is a 8 inch straight crack in the windshield(not a spider web, it will still pass va state inspection as it is not in the line of sight and does not branch or spiderweb), there is scratches on the right side(see pics below before bidding please). All of the damage is cosmetic, there is no suspension, frame, or undercarriage damage anywhere on the vehicle. All the doors open and close smoothly and there are no water leaks or anything like that. I performed a four wheel alignment since the accident as preventative maintenance to ensure there would be no tire wear or underlying suspension issues. I have also been driving the vehicle since the time of the deer damage. There are only a few mechanical issues I can think of that you may want to address in the future: The air conditioning compressor clutch is bad, so the ac does not work. You can buy a used ac compressor or a re manufactured ac compressor for very reasonable and it is not hard to install. Two: the windshield washer fluid reservoir/bottle is missing, I removed it to install the new battery and my wife's pain in the butt boxer dog chewed a hole in it while we were eating lunch. You should also be able to buy this very cheap at the junkyard or a new gm part is probably inexpensive also. I never used the windshield washer anyway as it just smears the bugs on the windshield in summer and we never drive it in the winter as we use our 4x4 SUV. Anyway now that I've written a novel. This is nice used car in great mechanical condition with slight cosmetic/deer damage. Drive it as is anywhere or fix the deer damage and paint it for a super nice car(also the clear coat is faded/peeling in a few spots, see pics). Please no low ball offers.
