Sad day. We are selling our mini. The CVT transmission failed about 14 months ago, and we have spent the last year months thinking about what we want to do with it. We are the original owners and the car was well maintained (typically dealer serviced, Long Beach Mini mostly and then Brecht Mini). Garaged until last year. Never smoked in. Always let it warm up before driving, and drove it gently. No problems with anything but the transmission, but its just too expensive for us to have repaired. That is why we are considering this either a parts car OR a car for a qualified CVT mechanic (bmw/mini mechanic). Body is straight, paint is shiny, we have the panoramic sunroof and real leather, not leatherette. Upgraded factory stereo, no modifications to any part of the car, no accidents, no dents that I could see and I am pretty particular. Sport package too. Since it has been sitting for about a year it will need a good detail and a battery. And because it has been sitting for so long, I would recommend a comprehensive service. I am happy to help coordinate pick up for any out of area buyers. To be clear, this car must be towed. It is not running. Smog test will be the responsibility of the buyer. Also, we have a loan against the car, so winning bidder/offer will be making payment to our bank, not us. I hope this makes sense. This will be the third car I have sold on ebay since 2002. Check my feedback, I have no interest in screwing anyone. I may end the auction early if we are able to sell from one of our local ads. On Jun-24-10 at 10:01:18 PDT, seller added the following information: 2003 mini, 79, XXX miles. One owner, Clean title, never any accidents, straight body, no dents. Needs auto transmission rebuilt/replaced. NON OPERABLE. I will submit the winning bidder's offer (signed by me and the winning bidder) to my bank for review. Approx 4-7 days. After approval, winning bidder sends winning amount to my bank and they release the title to him/her. (this needs to happen because the winning bid will be less than what we owe on the car) Once completed, I am happy to help coordinate shipping for winning bidder.
