This is a 1970 VW Beetle that has been in storage since 1982. It belonged to the gentleman's son who's Model A we have listed in another auction. The son passed away and the car was put away. His sister now has control of the vehicles and we are listing them for sale. We pulled the car out of the garage and brought it to our facility. We cleaned out the gas tank, cleaned the points, changed the oil and fired up the car. It actually runs pretty decent! Transmission shifts fine, clutch feels good but a break line broke just under the brake pedal so it has no brakes at present. The body on the car is quite solid, very nice floor pan and even the running board areas are still solid! There are a few dings in the rear fenders and the drivers door has a slight dent up high but all very easy to fix. Interior is in decent shape. There is a section of vynil on the drivers seat that was torn and the head liner has a few splits. All the glass is good. Both bumpers have pitting on the top sides. This is a very good candidate to restore or get the brakes working and drive it like it is. It will need a new battery as the ones we have are too big and tall for the compartment. As you see in one of the pics, we found a brand new front end, muffler, gasket set and some trinket parts in the garage. They are all Volkswagen and will be included with the car.
