Vehicle Detail

Mostly original, this is a real 4 spd. V8 Muscle Car. The previous owner of this car bought it in 2003 , regretfully he lost his eye sight about the same time, and the car sat in the driveway under a car cover ever since, hardly being driven more than a handful of times in 7 years. Just a little over 19,000 AMX's were ever produced from 1968-1970. Most of which had a wide variety of engine options from the 199 cubic inch 1V, 232 1v&2V , 290 2V & 4V , 343 2V & 4V , and lastly the 390 2V & 4V . This clearly stated to give those who believe they all came with a 390 V8 a little more knowledge. These cars were even rare during their day. Now they have almost disappeared , and only once in a while do we get a glimpse of an AMX on the road. This car is equipped with the 343 4V , mated too a 4spd. manual transmission and posi rear end. Another highly favorable aspect too this car is that it also has the 8000 RPM tach, 140 MPH speedometer , and full gauge package . The interior is mostly if not entirely original and complete. Showing just a little age. The body is extremely straight and would be an easy restoration. The most significant area that will need attention will be the filler panel between the back window and trunk. Fairly common amongst most cars of the day , which had flat back glass. Rain water and snow run off seemed to collect here making for a damp humid environment. Not horribly bad however. The car makes a great driver even as-is and could be driven home. Only a couple of very minor and I mean minor bubbling has occurred . The car cover it sat under did a job on the clear coat and retained some moisture , causing the coating to flake in spots. I drive this car frequently and it draws a crowd no matter where it's parked. The motor and tranny are very solid. The transmission was rebuilt and has very few miles on it, approx. less than 200. The water pump, radiator, starter, alternator, clutch & throw out bearing, fuel pump and carburetor had all been replaced by the most recent owner . Again with very few miles put on the car. I almost forgot too mention the car is equipped with a Hurst 4 spd shifter. We get a ton of phone calls about this car every week. It has been in our possession for the last 4 months and we have become very well acquainted with the previous owner and whatever questions you may have should be easy too answer. Also we have access to a hoard of AMC parts, including motors and transmission stuff including T-10 parts. These will be secondary to our listing and any requests for parts will be addressed once this listing has expired. Our goal is too be as forth coming as possible and give you the potential new owner of this scrappy little time machine, the best information possible too assist you in making this purchase. We are collectors ourselves and have owned and restored many classic cars , we know the concerns shared by the average hobbyist. If you have a serious interest in owning this AMX, you can feel confident knowing that we will provide you with anything and everything we can possibly offer relating too history and condition. No after sale negotiations or B.S will be addressed . Call us with any questions, my personal cell # is 970-260-6020 and I'll be glad too speak with you. This vehicle is offered as-is and of course comes with no warranty. It is 40 years old . Most forms of payment are accepted, a $500 deposit is required within 48 hours. The remaining balance must be paid within 7 days of auction close. Transportation is the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly hold this vehicle while transportation is being arranged. Pick -up should be in a timely manner in order to avoid us having to baby sit this car once it has been paid for and the title has been sent too you. We had to get that out of the way so there aren't any grey areas relating to the sale of this car. Don't miss your chance too own a piece of history. On Jun-25-10 at 15:17:39 PDT, seller added the following information: We are still offering this vehicle for sale locally, and get at least 20 calls per day about it. If you are at all toying with the idea of owning this car , then do not hesitate to throw in a legitimate bid on this car and at least give yourself a chance. If you are local, then I suggest you get down here and get the ball rolling as well. We will not offer it for sale too anyone locally once the Auction has ended because it will have sold here on eBay. Please- no negative eBayers or wishy washy flakes . You win it , you own it. Good luckOn Jun-26-10 at 18:29:13 PDT, seller added the following information: If anyone would like a couple pics of the motor please let me know and I'll email them too you.
