ONLY READ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE CAR AS I HAVE TOOK MY TIME TO WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THIS CAR AND EXPECT YOU TO READ IF YOUR BUYING IT OR THINKING ABOUT BUYING THE CAR. THANK YOU. CARFAX SHOWS TO BE A ACCENDENT ON THE FRONT, THERE WAS. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT HAD A DENT ON FRONT PASS FENDER AND CRACK RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL. NO MAJOR DAMAGE WAS FOUND ON THIS CAR. IF THERE WERE, I WOULD OF SAW IT. SO DON'T GET WORRY, EVERYTHING IS FINE. Hello everyone, due to my business I need to sell my collection cars. This auction is for my very nice and rear bright white 1985 Toyota Celica GST Convertible automatic. I’ve owned this car for a long time, this car is one of my dream cars, but I can always buy another one when my time is ready for it again. A little about the history of these cars, this is a third generation Toyota Celica GT-S code name RA65, the GT-S package was the only model that has fender flares and independent rear suspension and fully adjustable lumber bucket seats. Along with minnor change made in 84-85 having a slight different front end look and lower suspention added along with the convertible package a better side door lower kit panel was added and two lower frame rails were installed to keep the car from flexing when the top was down. This celica packed the true 4 cylinder bullet proof EFI 22R engine making 117hp in it’s time, US market at the time said this engine was too powerful for it’s rear end designed and limited the power in engine size leaving US 3rd gen celica’s with only the 22R engine while other countrys having better, more faster and powerful engines. In 1984 toyota teamed up with (ASC) American Specialty Cars to build the GT-S Convertible. ASC is a third party sports company that custom builds cars for dealers around the wrold. Toyota had a limited total of 4,400 convertibles made during 84-85, by now there is said to be an estimated less than 2,000 of these cars left in the US which makes it a very well collection. Another ten years from now and this car will be the pride AND demaned of toyota’s sport history just like the 1st gen celica. When I was looking to buy one of these 10 years ago I bought three before finding this one. I kept this celica because it was the cleanest one I saw and had. This car has been repainted a few years ago because of the fade paint. I had this car for around couple years and put less then 220 miles on it. 180 miles of that was from the sellers place (Wichita KS) to tulsa oklahoma and to and from the body shop, that’s it. I bought this car to collect for external and pass down to my family, which again was one of my dream cars. For all these years that have pasted by this car has sat under a car cover inside my garage and never seen light, water, rain, dirt whatever you want to call it…… Untill today 6-18-10. all the fluids were drained before storage, coolint, engine oil, trans oil, diff etc. Today I have put all new fluids inside the car, pluged the battery back up along with a jumper pack and it stated right up first try, the car will need a major tune up before it drives anywhere, even tho I did a complete tune up before putting away, that was a long time ago. And should really make another one because im sure the gas is bad and the plugs/cap/rotor should be change too if driven away. I am very picky about driving a car anywhere without doing a tune up unless going close places, today when I started it up it made chain noises, which is normal for these engines with no oil lubing for such long time. After about a min or so when the oil filled the engine all noise went away. If you know anything about the 22r engine this is totally normal for one that has sat soo long. so don't be scared. Now a detail about the car: Complete paint job done sometime a few years ago. You wont find ANY dings/dent ANYWHERE on this car’s body, nor will you find ANY scrach or scraches ether. All the windows and windshields are in perfect shape. The convertible top opens and close perfect with no assestence, both back seats fold down when convertible top button down is pushed, both rear side window works, and so does both front windows as well. Factory rear window was used when new top was installed and the defrost also still works, the deluxe $1,600 double layer top was installed and not the cheap $300 tops others install. Power annt still works but the radio does not and I have not care to check since the sterio is not orignal, was replaced with a jvc double deck cd/cass from old owner. The wheels are not in best condition as it has some road rash and age ware, the tires has more than 70% life left but sat in my garage for so long, they did not need air all this time, held air perfect so they should be still good. The carpet is in very good shape. The dash has no rips or cracks or tears on it which is very hard to find. The two truck layerr carpets are in execlent condition too and so is the spare. The title and tags are all up to date as I updated it every year that goes by, even tho I don’t drive it I still do to keep from paying a big bill when I do go get new tags. Also the seat belt bezel on both seats are not broken which you really cannot find that’s still good. Both the front seats rear cover are not crack or broken, the pocket that hold stuff is not rip ether. What the car needs: Needs new battery as the one in it I’m sure is completely dead due to sitting so long. My advice to the new onwer is the car should get a complete tune up before driving or tow it home. The car was bought with a broken key and so I had just the igintion pull out and a new one bought but never got around to installing it and now I cannot find it. But it cost 65 from the local auto store. The top has a small cut which was repaired, it’s the size of 1.5 inch long. Cant really tell unless your really just looking to find it. The driver front side fender marker light is missing, the body shop lost it, all 3rd gen side markers are the same convertible or not. The rubber trim around the two rear small window has dryed out and needs replacing, you can buy for 100 from toyota still. The driver rear light top is faded from buffing too hard, look at pictures to see, it can be easy repared. Both the two front seats are stain and I have not took it to get detailed as I didn’t care because I don’t drive it and don’t plan too, my plan was just to let it sit and look good for me. The driver seat plastic arm rest left side is crack, you can see it in the picture. The black window molding on the driver front windshield is cracking from age, you can also still buy these new for 45 each. The pass window switch does not work, and the driver switch for the pass has a hard time working going up, the switch is kind of bad you have to push a few times for it to work. The wrost part of this car is the side moldings, all around molding were installed back the best way posssible by the body shop as they were hanging when I bought it and not even the correct ones, some were from non convertible models which is shorter. A complete new set goes for 450 from dealer, or you can always find use molding. This is the biggest thing that bugs me of the whole car. With this fix the car would be close to perfect. I have explain this car the best and honest as I possiblly can, if you live close come by and take a look at it before buying or bidding. You can call me with any questions at 918-530-7633. I have a total of 7900 into this car and do not wish to get anything near of that back, it would be nice but I understand my lost is your gain. I paid 2500 for car, 1600 for new top, 3400 for body work and paint job, about 400 in repair and parts changed. THANKS FOR READING AND CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTION, DON’T THINK YOU KNOW, CALL BEFORE YOU THINK J
