Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on on a 1977 Jeep CJ5, in good sturdy condition. Prior to my ownership, vehicle had not been used and was stored for many years. Vehicle has been serviced, including oil/filter, complete tune up (plugs, cap and rotor), new valve cover gasket, new pinion seal and rear end grease, new exhaust manifold, remanufactured carburetor, new power steering box and hoses, four new brake wheel cylinders; compression on the engine was excellent, variation from 158 to 160 lbs per cylinder, runs good, no smoke. All accessories and lights work, heater, windshield wipers, good brakes. Body has some surface rust spots, nicks and scratches, but is very solid, floor pans excellent, body needs minimal body work and paint, underside of hood paint is peely and has some surface rust; seats completely redone including new foam and upholstery, new tinted windshield, new carpet (scheduled to be installed next week), new turn signal mechanism, new fender flares and clearance lights, new glove box and used CB radio, no antenna, rear trailer hitch and front tow bar brackets. Tires are fair (I would replace). At some time, previous owner had put Rancho Springs (rear springs #44192, front springs #44092), shocks and steering stabilizer on jeep. I do not know very much about Jeeps, but I think it may have some lift (2" or so?) by the Rancho Springs, and it sits a little lower on the driver side. This jeep is in sturdy useable condition as is, but could easily be restored to pristine condition if buyer has the desire. We had planned to possibly do some 4 wheeling, but due to health issues, have since changed our minds. All receipts and invoices for items purchased for this jeep will be included. Vehicle is described to the best of my ability, but is sold as is, there is no warranty. On Jun-19-10 at 11:21:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Jeep also has U bolt guards on all 4 springs and a belly/transmission plate/guard. Will take Jeep for smog after carpet is installed and will post results on this ad. On Jun-20-10 at 11:11:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to say, had new visors made, will be installed with carpet. Also, am checking with a friend regarding a top/doors. Will see if the condition is serviceable, and include on auction if it is. On Jun-22-10 at 14:45:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Today got Jeep back from the upholstery shop with carpet and new visors installed. Have added pictures of Jeep without carpet to show how nice the floor pans are, and with the new carpet visors. Seller has decided not to smog the Jeep until sold, as there are a number of prospective buyers from areas not requiring smog, thus there is no necessity to do so. However, if winning bidder requests a smog certificate, seller will have it smogged prior to completion of the purchase. On Jun-25-10 at 11:57:56 PDT, seller added the following information: One potential buyer questioned what type of 4 speed this Jeep has. Following is his question and my response: Question: yes ,some are the straight 4 speeds, the most sought after one is the t-18,the only diff is the t-18 has a much more reduced 1st(granny gear) for off roading.as for telling the diff between them,i thought is was stamped on the housing, jeep mechanics would better know, whats the buy it now price, thank you for your reply, Answer: I am quite sure this 4 speed is the T 18, the T 18's I looked at on the web look the same as this one. It is a very stout transmission. Secondly, again checking the web, there are only two transmissions identified as coming in these Jeeps, the T150 (which is a 3 speed) and the T18 (the 4 speed). This is definitely a 4 speed. Thanks, Dave
