Up for bids is a 1974 Chevrolet Elcamino. This is no show car but it would make a great daily driver. The engine which I believe is a 350, runs great and runs strong. The automatic trans shifts great also. The starter makes a noise and Ive been told it needs a shim where it bolts up. . Starts great but makes a little noise. The engine starts right up and when its warm a slight bump of the starter and it takes off, no grinding. The temperature stays normal and the oil pressure is good, has aftermarket gauges in the dash which you can see in the pics. This is a non air car. The windshield has a crack in it but we all know how to get that replaced with the help of our local insurance company! The interior is driver quality, the carpet is dirty, the seat has some tears on the driver side but it sits good, no cushion problems. The dash has some cracks and the door panels are fair. The wheels are painted ones with tires that have some cracks from dry rot. The frame has some very minor rust, nothing to worry about, no big holes or anything like that, still very solid,mostly flakeing. The body has been worked and painted a few years ago. Its no show car paint job, lots of orange peel and ametuer body work. The tailgate works good. The pics show some of the bad places coming through on it but it still looks pretty good for a daily driver. Its one of those 10 foot paint jobs. The bed floor is very solid. Im not trying to blow this car up to make it something it isnt but at the same time I dont want to under rate it. Im driving this car daily and other than the tires being a little dry rotted, I cant see why it cant be driven home. It needs a little TLC to make it nice. The floor pans have been replaced but like the rest of the body work, they didnt do a real nice job but its ok for a driver. The windows have a dark tint on them as you can see by the pics and they did a good job on them. I have a good, clear title for the car. Again, this is no show car but with a little TLC you can have a good daily driver as that is what im using it for. The paint is shiny but didnt flow real good.
