Vehicle Detail

Old Muscle Car Looking For a New Home Would you like to relive your younger years with a powerful V-8 Muscle Car? Then consider bidding on my 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham Sedan. The engine in this car is as strong as the heart of a lion. It is the classic 260 (4.4 Litre) V-8 and starts up immediately. The engine is smooth and responsive and wants to get back on the road. The transmission seems to shift normally and there is no indication of slippage or fluid leaking. I have had this car since 1998 and drove it every day after my small Buick was attacked by a lady driver early in 2001. Early in 2005 the entire exhaust system on the Cutlass was replaced at a cost of almost a thousand dollars and the car still runs nice and quiet. At about the same time the windshield was replaced. It continued as my everyday car until I bought a convertible Chevy later in 2005. When I got it, the car had a two-tone paintjob, Burgundy and Cream. However, some rust was beginning to break through and the cream sections have been largely covered with red oxide primer. The interior is Burgundy Plush Upholstery in reasonable condition. It is fitted with a Jensen AM/FM Stereo Radio and CD Player. This sound system includes an Aux input for playback of external devices. I had planned to continue with the restorative body work on this car, and treat it to a new paint job. I started the work but advancing age (mine) and diminishing income now means I have to change my plans. I currently have five cars, four of which were slated for restoration. Now, at least two of them must go, and maybe two more later. Some body filler had been applied to a corroded area above the windshield on the passenger side of the car, but this was never sealed and will now need to be done again. Overall, the body is not in bad shape, but it will need a fair amount of body work and prep before painting. The front bumper is in very good shape but the rear bumper is starting to rust out. In October, 2003, the Speedometer Cable had been replaced but the last time I drove the car on the highway, in November, 2007, the speedo did not seem to be working correctly. Suspension seems OK and the car rides nicely when driven around my half-acre back lot. The Brakes seem fine except that the Parking Brake cable is broken or disconnected and is hanging beneath the car. All the Power Windows and Window Switches are working properly. All Power Door Locks work with the exception of the Driver’s side rear door. The Electric Trunk Lock Release is also working from a push-button switch in the Glove Box. The Odometer shows 07,108 Kilometers. However, this is the second time around and the actual distance it has travelled is about 107,108 Km. The car comes with four good quality 205/175R14 Whitewall Tires. However, one of these is in the trunk - it is leaking because of some rust buildup between the rim and the tire bead. The donut spare is on the car at the left rear. All lights, including the Directional Signals, are working except for the Parking Lights front and rear on the Passenger side of the car. It is likely just that the bulbs need to be replaced. Anyway, I must part with this car but do hope somebody can bring it back to its former glory and enjoy its smooth and powerful performance. I am starting the bidding at $250.00 but the car is certainly worth a lot more than that even if only as a parts car. Pickup or transit will be the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. The car is driveable but would need some attention to be legally driven on the roads. There are nearby garages that could take care of the generally minor defects. The car is currently located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, which is just to the West of Toronto. It is in close proximity to a number of north-south and east-west highways and is within about 60 miles of the United States border at Lewiston, Niagara Falls or Buffalo, New York. Although I believe that this car can be easily put into service, I cannot give any kind of warranty or guarantee. It is sold strictly "as is."
