Vehicle Detail

This is a RARE right hand drive MG Midget, I haven't seen another one in the US yet! This is an unfinished project that I have been working on for the last year but I have to sell it due to pending PCS. My loss is your gain. It has a new carpet set and Mazda Miata seats. I have done some body work and needs very little before painting. The following upgrades have been done: -Converted from positive ground to negative ground -Pertronix Performance Electric Ignition -Weber down draft carburetor -Generator to Alternator conversion -Power door locks -Power windows -Monza Exhaust It comes with the soft top frame and hard top. The hard top needs mounting hardware. I bought this car about 3 years ago for $2500 and since have put over $2000 in parts alone. Due to it being an unfinished project I am only asking what I paid for it. On May-13-10 at 14:39:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I have had a lot of questions regarding rust, which is quit understandable as I should have asked the same questions when I purchased the car. Please keep in mind that this is a project care and will need work. Usually you will see Midget project cars going for a couple of hundred, but this is a right hand drive car and cranks easily and drives well. Floor pans: both floor pans are rusted through, the drivers side has had a steel plate welded in the footwell by a previous owner. The passenger side has a lot of small rust holes in the footwell. I coated both sides with POR15 and patched all the holes before I laid the new carpet. Both floors are structurally solid and you won't tell that there is any issues unless you look under the car. I have two new original floor pans to go with the car, but because I do not know how to weld I never installed them. Hood: Front of the hood has some rust, I might be able to get a replacement hood locally but I'm not sure if it is still available. Body: I have attempted to locate as much of the rust as possible and sand it out and patch with Bondo (this is the discoloration in the photo). Other than that the rest of the body isn't bad, door jams are surprisingly good with no rust. Bottom line: This is not a restored car or else I would be asking a lot more, most of the upgrades and repairs I did myself are mechanical. I must sell this car!!! My reserve is $2,500 but as with any antique car you rarely get what you put into it. If it doesn't reach the reserve price I will offer it to the highest bidder. On Jun-06-10 at 10:37:34 PDT, seller added the following information: The floor pans are being sold separately, they will not be included in the auction.
