Up for auction is a silver 2004 Ford SVT Focus 2-door in very good to excellent condition overall. The SVT Focus was offered from Ford’s in house performance division and includes many extra features not found on the regular Focuses. I am the original owner, bought in August 2004. ***There is a reserve price, but it is set well below private party blue book. Check edmunds.com TMV or Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) for more information.*** Mileage: approximately 103,000 Smog: Passed California smog on 4/24/10 Options from factory: 6-disc CD changer with subwoofer. Everything else is standard for an SVT (6-speed manual; sport seats, suspension, 17” wheels, etc.) Aftermarket changes: Engine Tune – Has had an SCT XCalibrator aftermarket engine tune since 25,000 miles. This is mainly to smooth out the acceleration hesitation that Ford never fixed properly on any SVT Focus, (an internet search can provide you with more info.) Tuner control included. Aluminum throttle body (stock unit included) K & N drop-in filter Brembo OEM-style replacement brake rotors (4-wheel disc) Recent maintenance: 1) New timing belt, tensioner, water pump, coolant flush, and valve cover gasket @95,000 miles with receipt 2) Tires (Dunlap Sport Maxx summer tires, OEM size 215/45R17 ) at about 70% tread left 3) Brake pads at 60% life left. 4) Regular oil changes with either Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec at 5,000 miles since new, except for the first oil change, which was at 2,500 miles. All regular maintenance has been performed by me except for tires, wheel alignments and timing belt service. I maintain my vehicles religiously. 5) New battery about a year ago. Interior: Excellent condition for a vehicle with even half the amount of miles. Leather in great shape, no rips, tears, or stains in the fabric. Pictures should speak for themselves. Everything works as new. A/C blows cold. CD changer works flawlessly. Exterior: Also in excellent condition. There is NOT a single dent, scrape or scratch in the paint, which in many parts can still be passed off as new (regularly polished and waxed.) Headlights are clear and not yellowing at all. The only cosmetic damage of any kind are a few minor rock nicks in the hood and front bumper that have been touched up. Engine: Original engine, transmission and clutch. The clutch still grabs very well, with no shutter or slip detectable. Power steering, brake, coolant fluid have been changed at least twice, transmission fluid once. Does not leak or seep any fluids at all. Adult driven, never abused. Brakes: No shuttering, no spongy pedal, no leaks, tracks straight, no issues at all. Suspension: The only flaw with this car is a knock sound that I am certain is from the front stabilizer bar. The stabilizer bar is slightly misaligned toward the driver’s side, (not bent, just misaligned.) On certain rare occasions, when hitting a bump in a turn just right, the stabilizer bar knocks against something. I’ve not bothered to fix it since it doesn’t really annoy me. All the fix would be is to loosen the stabilizer bolts, straighten the bar, then tighten the bolts. Everything else in the suspension is great.
