Vehicle Detail

What you are looking at is a pretty cool, and close to being road ready Morris Minor 2 dr coupe. This is a really cool looking car. I have an affinity to English cars for some reason, and just couldn't pass this one up. Alas, I have not had a chance to get it going, and times are tight, so some of the future projects have to go. Let me rephrase that, lots of the future projects have to go! This particular "project" is not much of a project really. My assumption is that it could be a runner around town in a weekend. The car is almost totally complete, and I have actually bumped the motor over with a hose into a can of gas, and jumping the starter. Tires have been holding exactly the same air pressure for months, and the car rolls nicely. I would think the car will need some fresh gas, maybe some wheel cylinders for safety sake, a brake bleed, and ....? The seats seem to be from a later model, or? They still need to be bolted down, and some trim work needs attaching etc. on the interior. The rear trunk latch is in the trunk with a California black plate with lots of blue overspray on it. There are also a few more spare goodies such as hubcaps, an ignition switch w/key , which is good since I don't have a key for the switch in it, which explains the matching blue screwdriver the previous owner had in there., and ? As far as engine size goes, your guess is as good as mine. This is my first Minor, and people have told me that the most common size is a 1000cc? And it has a 4 speed manual transmission. The story of the car to the best of my recollection goes that this was the previous owners fathers hobby car. He was just about done with it for a little weekend runner, and passed away. The car sat inside her giant paint and body shop for somewhere near 10 years. When I picked it up, it was sitting next to a huge boat with a layer of dust on the whole car. Which leads me to a good point. There are no back registration fees, as the car is off the DMV records now. This makes the DMV process very easy. I went to the Pleasanton DMV, and they told me to not register it until I was ready to put it on the road. The fees were going to be $15 for title fee + taxes on whatever the sales price is. If it stays in California, then it can use the original plate (once polished up a bit from overspray), or you can get new plates for an additional $20. I will provide a bill of sale from both myself and the previous owner for you to make things nice and easy. The body seems to be pretty rust free. I'm not sure when it was painted, but it was kind of a half a** tape job, because there is paint on some of the window seals, and overspray on the this or that. Look at pics to see what I'm talking about. Nothing a few new rubber seals wouldn''t cure I would imagine. I guess the good news is its not all rusty, and multi-colored. The only other bad thing I can think of is that it smells like a cat got into it and pee'd. I am assuming you could shampoo the seats, and carpet padding (no carpet) , and you would be good to go. They could all use a good cleaning anyway. This would be a sweet little father son or daughter project car. Great fit for the 16 year old, and very easy mechanically to work on i'm sure. LOW RESERVE, and ready to go.
